Eleven Children, One Wife, No Home Living Amidst Refuse And Rubbish For Over Three Years – TB Joshua

A stirring tale of glorious hope shining amidst the dark chasms of despair, of seperation and shame transfromed to unity and peace, of loneliness and homelessness replaced with life and love. Because God was involved…

Beyond the burdening, burgeoning bondage of homelessness, Mr Kefa Olatunji Taiwo had strayed slowly into the hazardous realms of hopelessness. At 60 years old, his family had scattered, any shred of dignity or self-worth left battered – his life in total tatters. Living in a bedraggled and dishevelled excuse for a shed, scantily assorted from stray aluminium and rotting wood, he had dwelt and dealt in the refuse grounds of Lagos, Nigeria for over three agonising years, surrounded by the repulsive stench of decay and debris, and the degrading stigma of a lunatic-like existence. Suicidal tendencies crept increasingly closer…

Living amidst the rubbish...

Living amidst the rubbish…

He suddenly halted before him, sensing something strange.“You are the one I am chasing.” Kefa looked up, astounded, dumbfounded. “Where is your family? Everybody is scattered in your home – and you are sleeping under the bridge, as an elderly man.” Extraodinary. His life-story unfurling uncannily from a man he had never encountered, a man he had never explained his predicament to. “You are getting old, an old man sleeping outside – and the family are scattered. Do you know where your problem comes from? This is what your mummy was telling you. The little money you had, you were going out – sometimes in the night you will not come home. You would take girlfriends. The little you had – you spent it just like that. This has destroyed you, destroyed your career.” How did he know? Whom had he told? “Something happened to you before this thing started. You met a mad woman – you never knew she’s a mad woman, and you slept with the woman. This is where the problem comes from. Today, when you sleep you see animals.” “Exactly, sir”

When Mr Taiwo walked dejectedly into The Synagogue, Church of All Nations in Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday 30th August, unbeknown to him was the unfolding of a divine design to break the chains of poverty and restore the bonds of unity within his crises-fraught family. The prophecy took him by surprise. It was so sudden, so direct, so precise. Pastor TB Joshua narrated his life to him, a brief 30 seconds of breath-taking revelation, a concise uncovering. As he was led through the beautiful sanctuary, a flame of hope licked within his veins. Could it be a way out had actually come?

Just imagine, just consider... what do you have to give?

Just imagine, just consider… what do you have to give?

The following week he stood again before the vast SCOAN auditorium, clips of his ‘home’ broadcast to the world live on Emmanuel TV. Evangelists had accompanied Taiwo to establish the veracity of the prophecy. The crowd gasped, beholding a dank wasteland with pigs scavenging among the filth, dirty infected water up to the knees, slime and grime at every turn. And a human being lived there, slept there, ate there, amidst the clutter and litter of decomposing garbage and gunk. “I’m useless,” the former furniture maker told the evangelists. “I just have to go and hide myself here when it is night. This is a shameful place, but I have no alternative – that’s why I have to stay here, living here as a mad man,” he said, explaining how local hoodlums had burnt his only property to ashes, forcing homelessness upon him.

Accompanied by his estranged wife and 11 children, all suffering a similar fate, Mr Taiwo watched on in reflective silence. “I believe if this man is helped, he will not go back to his past life – because he has tasted suffering and hardship,” said TB Joshua, addressing the whole congregation. “And I know if blessing comes now, he will be able to maintain it. Sometimes God uses foolish things. Don’t be surprised that among these children may be the president of tomorrow. Remember the past history, remember the heroes – many of them were raised from this kind of humble background,” he explained. “The first step is to get accommodation for the family, so we can bring the family together and let them live as one. To liberate these children, we must give them scholarships. And those who want to learn a skill – we will give them that opportunity.” The pastor, famed for his unrivalled and unbridled philanthropic works, explained that if the youths were left to themselves, they would probably end up in armed robbery or prostitution out of frustrations irrationalising influence. “Give them N300,000 and five bags of rice.”

Tears of shock and joy escaped from beneficiaries and congregants alike. Never before had Kefa seen or touched such money. “I didn’t expect this. Thank you, sir,” he quibbled, words failing to form his heart-felt expressions of gratitude. “This is what we are born for, this is what we are to live for, this is what we are to die for,” smiled the prophet, ascribing all glory to God.

“Someone out there is waiting for you for a lifetime,” Joshua counselled the enthralled audience and viewers worldwide. “You cannot afford to fail them; failing them is failing God. Remember, God is speaking to you through them, saying: ‘They are fatherless, so that you can be their father.’ ‘They are lonely, so that you can be their companion.’ ‘They are in want, so that you can be their benefactor.’ ”

A SPECIALIST IN SEDUCING PASTORS

A SPECIALIST IN SEDUCING ‘PASTORS’:

Miss Florence Peters came to The SCOAN and received a mighty deliverance from an evil spirit that had sent her on an assignment to destroy men. Coming forward to share her confession, she explained that she had been possessed by a marine spirit right from birth. She was given the name, ‘Eze Nwanyi’ meaning ‘Queen of the coast’. When she was young, her mother took her around various spiritualists and churches in search of deliverance who then took her to a river for a ‘spiritual cleansing’. However, since she knew the spirit within her came from the water, the deliverance she went for served only to increase the powers she was given in the marine world. The assignment she was given in the marine kingdom was to seduce and destroy men, most especially those who claimed to be pastors and preached against the kingdom of darkness with pride.MISS FLORENCE PETERS {SPECIALIST IN SEDUCING PASTORS}

In the middle of the church service, she would enter and immediately attract the attention of the pastor by using the power in her eyes and wearing revealing clothing.  After the service, she would request for prayer from the pastor, in order to have a one-on-one encounter with him. When she entered the office of the pastor, she would pretend to request for deliverance and while the pastor was counseling her, she would look directly into his eyes as a form of seduction. Thereafter, instead of delivering her, she would go ahead to sleep with them and thereafter, their ministries would be under the influence and control of the demonic kingdom of darkness. She explained that she specifically was sent to attack pastors because the kingdom of darkness thirsted for souls and bringing down a pastor would bring more souls into that kingdom.

She said after her deliverance, she slept peacefully for the first time in her life, no more tormented by dreams of snakes, fishes and a strange man sleeping with her. She advised parents to be extremely careful about the names they give to their children, stating that the genesis of her problem was the name she was given. She further advised people to abstain completely from visiting witchdoctors and spiritualists as it will only compound their problems. Her advice to pastors was to be watchful of those who come pretending to ask for prayer, saying, ‘All that glitters is not gold.’

T.B. Joshua re-unites a young girl abandoned in 1996

Prophet T.B. Joshua re-unites a young girl abandoned in 1996 at the age of nine over witchcraft allegations with her mother

Oghenefejiro Iworo, a female Urhobo cultural music dancer from Ugheli, Delta was only nine years old in 1996 when she was abandoned by Esther, her mother. Her reason for taking such drastic action against her child was because the little girl was alleged to have belonged to the evil world of witches and wizards.

Wild accusations of witchcraft...

Esther claimed that she consulted a witch doctor in Ughelli who confirmed that her daughter was a witch and was responsible for the hardship and misfortunes she had encountered in life, including separation from her husband.

TB JOSHUA FANS UK BANNER 640 x 480The witch doctor had taken the little girl to her shrine in Eku, tortured her by using a sharp knife to inflict deep cuts on her cheeks. The blood extracted from the deep cuts was then given to the girl to drink before she allegedly confessed that she was a witch.

The witch doctor then warned her mother that unless she disowned her daughter, she would use her power as a witch to kill her. She therefore advised her to take the girl to Badare Wegereva, her mother-in-law whom she alleged to have initiated Oghenefejiro into witchcraft.

Esther who believed what the witch doctor told her about her daughter was angry with her. She, therefore, did not hesitate to take her to her mother-in-law at the Ugheli market where she was trading, called her a witch and left the girl with her. Badare was dumbfounded as she could not understand why her daughter-in-law could publicly call her a witch and even accuse her of initiating Oghenefejiro into the witchcraft world.

Afraid that the little girl could actually be a witch as her mother claimed, Badare equally rejected her and took her to her maternal great grand mother who was in her 80s. Although the aged woman accepted her great grand daughter, she could not take care of her.

The little girl had no option than to become a street urchin. She roamed the streets begging for alms and later joined street kids who taught her how to smoke cigarette and having illicit affairs with men. No matter how Oghenefejiro tried to struggle for survival in life, the stigmatisation and abandonment by her mother continued to haunt her.

However, she later joined an Urhobo cultural dancing group but still lived a wayward lifestyle. It was in the process that she was impregnated by Dafe Iworo, a butcher from Ekakpame, Delta State who married her. Already, Oghenefejiro has given birth to a baby boy.

Unknown to Oghenefejiro’s mother, her decision to disown her own daughter 12 years ago had become a curse to her. Despite the fact that she left Ughelli for Lagos in search of greener pastures, Esther who is a caterer continued to have nightmares as she could not even fend for herself.

She, therefore, decided to seek divine intervention by going to the Synagogue Church of All Nations where T.B Joshua told her that she was suffering from a generational curse because she accused her daughter falsely of being a witch.

He told her that the curse would continue to haunt her until she is reunited with her daughter and begged her for forgiveness over the stigmatisation she was subjected to because of the accusation.

He also told her that the generational curse started from Micheal Akatakpo, her 60 year-old father who was an idol worshipper. Esther admitted that her father had similarly called her a wicth when she was nine years old. She, therefore, had to travel to Ughelli with pastors from the Synagogue Church of All Nations where they searched for her daughter until she was found. She also brought her father to the church where Joshua delivered them from the generational curse.

Joshua said it has become common for some parents to abandon their children in the streets over the allegation that they are witches. He wondered why a mother should subject her own child to such a traumatic experience. “It is rather unfortunate that a mother who carried a child in her womb for nine months or more, laboured to bring her forth, would later stigmatise the child as a witch and throw her away from her home into the street,” he said.

Worried by the trend, Stepping Stones, a UK registered charitable organisation is working in conjunction with the Child Rights and Rehabilitation Network, CRARN, to transform the lives of children who have been stigmatised as witches and wizards.

Gary Foxcroft, programme director, Stepping Stones Nigeria, said their aims are to tackle the problems of ignorance and superstitious belief in child-witchcraft as well as eradicate the torture of children stigmatised as witches.

THE CRISES OF BELIEF: THE UNIQUENESS OF THE SCOAN

182641_The-Synagogue-Church-Of-All-Nations-(SCOAN)_1

There is no doubt that the church which should be recognised as the body of Christ, is today suffering on a number of fronts, and for different reasons. While many churches spring up in every corner of the globe, and many pastors – called and uncalled – keep ‘spreading the Word’, it should be expected that the church should be strong, powerful, progressive, fruitful, spiritually fulfilling and humane in disposition.

The church should wear the neat garment of truth, on which misrepresentations should have no impact; it should be the canopy under which spiritual shield may be labourlessly enjoyed and appreciated. God, when He is mentioned, should be in truth; His Word should be quoted and referred to in truth; and His everlasting grace should be a ready-made companion.

The church should exist to give power to His Word; to ascertain the certainty and centrality of His everlasting existence, and give power to the doubtless faithful. It should be the umbrella of truth, giver of hope and source of prophetic veracity. It should be the source of deliverance and healing, where hidden realities of the seen and unseen worlds are discovered. It should be the cornerstone of belief.

But the truth is that the church, since the 20th century (as our contemporary reference) has not been permitted to faithfully observe its functions. Self-antagonism, mischief, rumour-mongering, back-stabbing, name-calling, hatred and blackmail are ‘tools’ which the devil is unceasingly using to distort truth and justice, as symbolically entrenched in the church. Today, there are numerous cases of misrepresentation, self-imposed distorted image, media onslaughts, sponsored attacks and reckless opinions being hatched and celebrated by people and institutions as if these are virtues preached to the human race by the Word!

The church, as understood by some, has no reason to be associated with prophecy and healing; it should be a place where gentle prayers are said, and supported with perhaps, tithing. But the church should be all-embracing, because the devices of the unknown and unseen powers, the forces of darkness, include marginalization, self-hatred, mischief, bitterness, hatred and blasphemy among the followers of Christ. These forces have also been there, but today, the velocity has increased to a deadly shocking level. This is because the more the churches in circulation, the more darkness seems to be covering the fields of performance.

Churches are divided among themselves; some congregants of one denomination never have anything to do with the others from other churches. Men and women of God even spread dangerous rumours and publish horrible propaganda in the name of being the best ever to emerge in Christendom.

The Synagogue Church Of All Nations

The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) has not altogether been seen by some Christians (or so they pledge) as worthy of enjoying God’s grace which it has pleased the LORD it is enjoying today. But it is clear that this church does not have a tradition of antagonising other churches, not even proven antagonists of its processes and essence in society. It does not think much of critics but of how people should accept the faith in truth and complete obedience to the Word. It has a clear agenda as ‘an arena of liberty’ – it is focused, programmatic and progressive in its choice of spiritual curricula; it insists on true deliverance and healing, and of giving to the needy (the poor, hopeless, sick, deprived, hungry, rejected and the alienated). It is focused on empowering the true faithful, with the Word as it should be obeyed and preached.

One of the ways The SCOAN has achieved its focus is the aspect of the recognition of true pastors (evangelists, ministry co-ordinators, prophets etc.). The truth is that people naturally take to preaching the Word or founding ministries just because they happen to attend theological schools. But while such schools have their place in the manifestation of Christian commitment, it has been repeatedly proved that they are sheerly insufficient in producing true men and women of God.

Educative and informative as they may look, there are often missing links in their agenda and curricula. In fact, many products of such schools have been known to fail in doing the expected work of preaching and winning souls. Some have turned out to be betrayers of the faithful and abusers of the Gospel. Some know close to nothing about the ethics and aesthetics of true Christianity, and are simply agents of the devil who insist on monetization of prayers, giving anointing oil, fasting and deliverances. Some even go for the flesh in ‘achieving’ spiritual upliftment: the love of money, fame and position has dwindled the spiritual quality of many minds.

But The SCOAN makes it clear – and there are clear evidences in video, DVD and VCD cassettes, to illustrate the truth of this. Many ‘pastors’ have been discovered to lack spiritual fire; they preach in the midst of total ignorance of the kind of empowerment, which should accompany such works. Such pastors even openly manifest evil machinations, as evil spirits speak through them, when they undergo deliverance. Yet, some of such had preached, sermonised, baptised, delivered and healed people; some also spoke in tongues.

The SCOAN makes it obvious that even the devil has a way of counterfeiting God’s own unique manifestations. The devil can also heal and deliver, but has a way of re-investing greater pains, frustration, helplessness, poverty and unfaithfulness in people. He gives them back a heavier burden while pretending to have saved them. Curious minds will never stop asking why ministers with churches and many years of practice should manifest in The SCOAN, if actually they had been delivered! Deliverance is one word which has been so misunderstood in Christendom – yet it is the backbone of belief and faith. The SCOAN makes sure that the devil and his characteristics are truly pushed off people; they are permanently cast in the pit of hell! Ground-shaking revelations occur when people are being delivered – hidden ‘strengths’ of the devil and his agents and their tools are exposed, which means only true, strong and undiluted faith is needed to be truly delivered. That one wears the colourful cassock or bears names like prophet, prophetess, evangelist, pastor, reverend etc. does not confer true deliverance.

Deliverance at The SCOAN

The evangelical work, claimed Prophet Joshua recently, is the most dangerous work but not many people know this.  Spirits and demons have their wicked ways of hitting back at people professing Christianity or calling them evangelists of the faith; they become afflicted with diseases, failures, poverty, hopelessness, nightmares, fears and forms of spiritual attacks. Though holding on to the Bible, they are not immune to strong winds of disgrace and tornadoes of frustration. A man may be a pastor by profession or in words, but not so in heart – according to Joshua. And this is where danger lurks. Insanity, ill-health and even death are located in such realisation. The spirits of lust, poverty, despair, helplessness, sinfulness, hatred and mischief, for example, become part of such fellows; they often love money and fame far more than the work of the Gospel.

Many of such ‘men and women of God’ have come to know the truth about themselves by receiving deliverance at The SCOAN, and, of course, there are other living churches where such takes place.

In The SCOAN, Christians and non-Christians have always received true deliverance, because the Word of God must be pure and thus, sure – in the words of Prophet Joshua. The Holy Spirit has often worked wonders; ancestral spirits, curses, marital failures, economic disempowerment, frustration, shame, impurity, joblessness and afflictions simply give way. Recently, a man who had consumed his and others’ faeces and urine (and his own sperm) for some 16 years was delivered. ‘Pastors’ from all over the world in the grip of satan were delivered. Drug addicts, militants, armed robbers, kidnappers, rapists and ritualists were delivered. And we speak here of permanent deliverance!

God is truth; His Word is true, pure and sure, thus deliverance is power to enlist the service of true faith. It is power to minister to God and to enjoy the benefits of God’s grace. It is the core of spiritual revival. It is freedom from sin, because “It is sin that makes us to be afraid of our heavenly abode” to quote Joshua. He said further that “God answers us if He strengthens us with His strength in our souls, though not with bodily strength”. He believes that “it is God’s Word that establishes; it is His Word that builds”. In other words, to master the truth of deliverance, God’s Word must be an integral part of us!

The roles of the Anointing Water and sticker (which are significant tools in The SCOAN) have been universally acknowledged, as well as their power, assuredness, dependability, reliability and promotion of faithfulness in all who believe. What was thought to be impossible in the world are daily happening at The SCOAN, but not without a price – some Christians find it difficult to agree with its genuineness as a “tool” through which God manifests Himself. Recently, though, Prophet Joshua told his congregants that “In searching for the truth, we must look within and beyond our palace” and that “As truth was older than terror, so it will survive it; it got the start and it will get the race. The day will declare who is in the right and who is in the wrong”.

Finally, he has insisted that God confirms the word of His servants by accomplishing it, by establishing it. God gives being (life) to His Word. You can speak His Word but God speaks life/ being. If He has not given being to His Word, the Word is dead but when He gives that life, the Word becomes life”. The SCOAN, to say the least, is one place in the world where God has indeed made the Word to become life!

Are spiritual advisers necessary?

It has been repeatedly established that prophets are people with special gifts of vision; people who are endowed by God to know the unusual, to discover the hidden, and to redirect men’s actions in consonance with the demands of the Holy Spirit. The gift of prophecy is a special one from God, and only very few are actually blessed by God with such powers. This is not to say there are many others claiming to be prophets but whose sources of power are questionable (and thousands of such are found in many countries of the world). These are people with counterfeit powers (photocopied powers) who try to do and achieve what true men of God are doing.

Prophets are known for the truth of their prophecies – the believability, timeliness, punctuality and permanence of same. Though satanic agents often try to out-do true men of God in making prophetic proclamations, these true men of God often win the day as seen with prophets Micaiah and Elijah, in their days, even when the leaders and the led did not necessarily believe in them.

Every age needs a true prophet. Every period in human history has its peculiar character. Today, the world over, are different trials which people and nations face – political, economic, and cultural and traditional. These challenges make life impossible; poverty and want rule people’s lives; ruler-ship is topsy-turvy; the land is poor and unproductive; the leaders are much used to greed, graft and corruption. Because of these factors, horror, earthquakes, moral disequilibrium, accidents and sheer deaths are forced on people, and dangerously empowered by occultism. There is much uncertainty, hopelessness and helplessness. Life is so tragic in orientation. Kidnapping, rape, drug-addiction, murder and ritualism have destroyed the foundation of many homes. People live in fear; their gifts are buried in the sand of meaningless commitments. People also lack the fear of God because satanism has swollen the ranks of unbelievers.

To avoid many evils which plague the world, it is important for people to listen to the tested prophets, which is why they should know the difference, which exists among the prophets. According to Prophet Joshua, there are two types of prophets. The first are the “General Prophets”. These have the ability to communicate the saving will of God. They teach because they have general knowledge of the Bible. They are aware of things both announced and known; they are general practitioners who have mastery of understanding of the bible chapters from Genesis to Revelation.

The second group of prophets are those who “receive direct and specific message from God and about man”. These people have the ability to predict and foretell the future, and can tell what the situation is, now. Prophet Joshua says that such spies on God’s plans, and reveals same to the world to know of some hidden truths which could serve their purpose.

Both groups are not necessarily antagonistic to one another, for they both belong to God. However, people do not understand the prophetic ministry; they little know the role of prophets in society. Equally, people are better used to pastors, some of whom are only obviously self-called. People are used to pastors who pray for them and recommend moments of fasting, even when such pastors themselves are very much in need of deliverance. Quite a lot of people had suffered in the hands of less-trained and less-gifted ‘men of God’.

The mistake most people make is to the effect that when they need the doctor, they go to the farmer, and vice versa. When they need the accountant, they move toward the farmer, and in the process, their problems remain unchallenged. Specialization, which is highly treasured by the Holy Spirit, is often neglected by people. They see every pastor as real, sensitive and prayerful, even when satan has won the souls of such people for himself.

Prophet T.B. Joshua had, for instance, prophesied in February 2012 to the effect that there was going to be an airplane crash in Nigeria, and that the people should pray with him to avert the looming danger.  Characteristically, nobody gave him an ear. In early June, 2012, there was a Dana plane crash on a Sunday at the Iju-Ishaga area of Lagos State, killing some 160 people. While some people had kept writing through social media to the effect that it was because the voice of a true prophet was disregarded, others felt otherwise. But what is particularly true is that such was not the first time Prophet Joshua had made similar prophecies which occurred, yet the unbelieving have remained unyielding that he is a true man of God. His prophecies within 2012 alone had come to pass, as well as hundreds of other prophecies made in the years past, yet some people keep expressing fears that Joshua, the Man in the Synagogue, is ever in company of satan!

Obviously, one of the challenges of modern times is disbelief in prophets and prophetic statements. We remember that in the church, that Sunday when the Dana air plane was to occur, Joshua was quite uncomfortable in service; he was busy checking his watch as if to leave the place at about 12.00 pm. He later told the congregation that he tried as a “prophet to see that the situation was rescued” through prayers, but he was rather lonely! The same was true of the previous prophecies he made; people never ever bothered with the implications and relevance of joint prayers. Some people later turned to be his adversaries, calling him a prophet of doom for not warding off the bad repercussions! But he had prophesied on governments, functionaries in government, lives of artistes and other professionals, etc. He has never hidden the truths revealed to him by God, yet he is disbelieved; he is even called reckless names.

Now, why should there be spiritual advisers to governments, corporations, private establishments? The answer should be obvious to strong believers: God should be involved in every major decision taken! This means, the God factor cannot be pushed aside in all business transactions, governmental programmes and community projects. Spiritual advisers are prayer warriors and visionaries to whom God reveals His secrets and plans. What is hidden from the ordinary eye cannot be hidden from true men of God. True prophets will tell people God’s mind on every issue. Owners of airplanes, for instance, will need prophets to let them know of dangers in the air, and how to ward off same. There are available calamities, even when God does not say Christians are free from trials. Prophets are endowed with visionary powers to know the unknown; they are allowed to spy into God’s plans and schemes. Many has wondered that if Nigeria knew that T.B Joshua is a prophet, why they should not agree with him.

A spiritual adviser is the mouthpiece of God. A prophet answers someone with the words of the Holy Ghost; the Holy Ghost is true. No wonder, Prophet Joshua says that every time, we should talk scriptures in any situation (whether good or bad). A spiritual adviser is needed to guide people’s moves and strategies in performance; provide spiritual illumination and enlightenment when most needed, and ensure that common human mistakes are avoided in life. He prays and ensures stability, confidence, security, and progress of those concerned. For example, the fact that most national leaders neglect spiritual advisers is responsible for their wishy-washy policies, programmes and commitments. Unnecessary conflicts are avoided and credible appointments go to the rightful people. Leadership in most communities of the world would have been enriched spiritually only if spiritual advisers have been reckoned with. Interestingly, T.B. Joshua is known to have a lot of leaders, business gurus, politicians, professionals, etc from all over the world who see him as a spiritual adviser, and for whom he prays and delivers God’s messages. The prophet has easy facility in the Word (which is an integral part of him) and he talks Scripture in every situation. Moreover, his voice is one of confidence; he said, “If you know where you belong, you will talk like a victor”. The miracles performed by God through him are engineered to help people’s faith and make them stronger than they are. It takes the voice of an authentic prophet to correct mistakes in families, jobs, relationships and religious life. For instance, many people were called witches and wizards in the past, only for them to reclaim their true identities in The SCOAN, though they confessed what they were not. The prophet encourages people to move closer to God instead of accusing people by their confessions. Thousands had also been delivered from the grip of evil forces which made them mad; eat anthill soil and chalk and paper; misbehave to others and commit suicide. Spiritual advisers are certainly needed at domestic, national and international scenes.

YOU HAVE A ROLE TO PLAY – TB JOSHUA

ACTIVE FAITH

The Sunday service was kicked off with a sermon by Wise Man Racine, who spoke on the theme of “Active Faith”. Using John 14:2, he said we can only exercise faith when we put substance to our hope by acting on God’s Word. He said faith believes now, receives now and acts now. Also, referring to Hebrews 11:8, he maintained that every person has a role to play because there is no reason for faith as good as God’s Word. God’s duty is to make His Word available to us and give us His grace. God is faithful to those who are faithful to Him but we must hear and obey His Word. He said the way of obedience is the way of blessing and failure to act faith nullifies our prayers. Acting on God’s Word builds faith in the heart of the believer. He said that mental assent recognizes the truthfulness of God’s Word but never acts on it. He also said that prayer changes us; faith changes things.

Wise Man Racine enlightened the congregation by saying that that successful people don’t just drift to the top; it takes focused action, personal discipline and a lot of effort to make things happen. While maintaining that adversity will make our faith to grow, he advised that we should not let our situation mislead us because to delay is not to deny. He said that Jesus refused to be rushed by the emergencies of others. God’s response is not for those in a hurry. We need patience and perseverance to inherit the kingdom of God. We must act faith to move mountains and act on God’s Words to make His promises real and living in our lives.

PROPHETS AND PROPHECY

In his own message of encouragement, T.B. Joshua asked the congregation a question: “What is your problem? What are you facing? Remember our Saviour, no matter what He was going through in life, whether people were praising Him or not, remained the same. His focus remained the same.” He said that as Christians, our challenges are not like others because a man may be poor and yet a friend of God; a man may be sick in body and yet a candidate of Heaven.  He said that Jesus maintained His focus because He had come to do the will of His Father. He then advised that we keep our focus no matter the situation we may be passing through. Using the example of Apostle Paul and his thorn in the flesh, he said, our disadvantage can be turned into our advantage when God is involved.

He went on to talk about prophecy and prophets saying that a prophet of God shall say that which he himself shall live to see accomplished. “The Bible says a Christian has power in his mouth. The belief in our heart is released by faith out of our mouth. If you are a Christian, a Christian by faith, you shall say that which you shall live to see accomplished.”

Referring back to what he had been talking about for the last few weeks concerning Prophet Micaiah and King Ahab, he said: “There’s a standard in the Bible. The false prophets/ pastors/ bishops/ evangelists that told the people that they shall be victorious/ blessed, shall be disproved by the events. The day will declare who is right and who is wrong. The day will testify to the reality and the fulfilment of the prophecy.”

A BROKEN COVENANT

A video was shown of last week’s Sunday Service in which Uche Ezugba, was prophesied to by Prophet T.B. Joshua, that he had offended a woman who subsequently cursed him, adding that the two of them had made a covenant together on a beach. The man revealed, in confirmation, that he actually spent six and a half years with the woman.

Uche narrated how he had first met the lady at a nightclub and they had agreed to be together. One night, at about 2am, she woke him up and confessed that she was from the water but that he would run mad without any cure if anyone should know of the secret. She told him she had power to make him rich or poor, but he had to fulfil the following obligations – to make love to her every morning before going out for business, to carry out her instructions, to marry her and never to cheat on her with any other woman.

They also went to a beach and swore an oath, making a blood covenant between them. At the beach, she told Uche that she would never be able to conceive for him in life.  He began to see money after agreeing to these conditions. Wealth became his second name. He began to buy cars and business boomed.

However, everything changed when she caught him with another woman.  Angrily driving the lady away, she cut herself with a razor in the kitchen. She touched his forehead and told him he would never forget that day in his entire life, pronouncing a curse of suffering and poverty upon him. She immediately packed her things and left the house, never for him to see her again.

Immediately following the pronouncement of this curse, he lost everything he had – cars, houses and business connections. His shops closed one after the other. He could not even pay the rent for his apartment. He said, “I now squat with a friend, and without anything. I am just camouflaging, just like that.” Any subsequent attempt at a relationship ended in disappointment. The doctor also told him that his sperm count was zero.

Every night, he said he was seeing women in the river whenever he slept who kept flogging and mocking him. He was also full of sickness. When walking alone he would be hearing a voice as if someone was close to him. After his prophecy and deliverance however, he testified that he had been sleeping well without any nightmares. He sincerely thanked God for his deliverance from the marine spirit.

Prophet Joshua used the example to speak to the congregation. He said that many demand for prophecies of prosperity and peace but act in disobedience to God’s Word. He explained that deliverance removes us from the cage of captivity. He said Mr Uche would now “go back and start life again as God created him”.

TRICKED INTO CULTISM

A video was shown of a woman who had received a prophecy the previous week that she had been initiated into a secret cult. The prophecy from T.B. Joshua had stated that she had found herself in this cult and her son had been mentally affected by this. He was the best among her children and she could not afford to lose him.

Mrs Ugwu Perpetua came to church to confirm the prophecy and explain the circumstances of her being in a cult. Many years ago, she had entered a taxi, without knowing that cultists were the fellow passengers. She was taken to a shrine, under a spell, and initiated while remaining naked. Washing herself in water at the shrine, she was shocked to see the water turn into blood before her eyes. She was warned never to reveal the secret or she or her children would suffer madness.

Her conscience had since been disturbing her because she had not revealed it to anybody, even her husband. Later, she had confided in a friend of hers. Upon exposing the secret, her son who was very intelligent and the best in school suddenly became mentally disturbed and unable to handle. The curse of madness had bounced back onto him. Desperately looking for help, her friend had advised her to come to The SCOAN for deliverance. Remarkably, her husband heard of this story for the first time in the service. She was grateful to God for releasing her and testified of the immense changes in her life since her deliverance the previous week.

SITTING ON A GOLD MINE

Mrs Sylvia Mtetwa from Zimbabwe had come to church to “acknowledge the goodness of the Holy Spirit through the Anointing Water”. According to her, she was coming from years of experience failure, setback and disappointment, but that Jesus Christ had dramatically changed her life after she had administered the Anointing Water. She had applied for a license to own a gold mine, an application which had fallen through consecutively for five long years.

However, after receiving the Anointing Water, she had sprayed it on her application forms, just once, and had taken them to the office. In her words, “I sprayed the water only once. To my greatest surprise, I was given my license instantly! Today, she said she owns a gold mine of about ten (10) hectares. “This is a miracle at my age. Thank You, Jesus; thank You Holy Spirit”, she joyously testified.

Prophet T.B. Joshua reminded all those present of the purpose of our blessing, saying that: “You are blessed to bless others. Help the needy, the poor, the widows and the disabled”.

AN INSTANT MIRACLE!

Mrs Remy Gagara from Bauchi State testified that she had received the Anointing Water and ministered it on herself, believing God for healing from ceased menstruation for many years.

She narrated how immediately after ministering the Anointing Water, she started feeling abdominal pains and then discovered that her menstruation had begun to flow again. In tears she explained how prior to that day she had visited many hospitals to get solution to this problem but all efforts had proved fruitless. She thanked Jesus for His mercy shown to her and for allowing the Anointing Water to be used as a medium to express His healing power in her life.

THE POWER OF GOD CHANGES DNA

Mr Benjamin told the church that his child, Rowland, “was a sickler from birth” and that there was a curse of premature death in his family. The child, Rowland, was born in 2005 and had always been unwell due to the scourge of sickle cell anaemia. He was unable to enjoy a normal life as a little boy.  Mr Benjamin had visited many hospitals for a solution, and had fasted and prayed for years.

Having seen a lot of miracles on Emmanuel TV, he had decided to journey to The SCOAN himself and had the opportunity to receive the Anointing Water. After administering it, he confessed to have seen instant changes in his son. Showing the medical reports from the hospitals, he told the church that his son’s genotype had changed from genotype SS to genotype AA, “My son is free from sickness”, he enthusiastically declared to the joy of all those present. Some were also brought to tears by the magnitude of this miracle. T.B. Joshua said of the remarkable miracle, “It is hard for an ordinary man to believe. If you are not delivered, you will not believe. Satan uses doubts to connect us to himself”.

The second service was supervised by the wise men who prophesied into the lives of people on aspects of their limitations, difficulties and troubles. Many also received dramatic deliverances from evil spirits that had tormented their lives for many years. We thank Jesus Christ!

GOD’S WORD WORKING WONDERS IN OUR TIME

TO HIS POWER NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE

TB JOSHUA

In a spirited sermon to awaken the congregation to the power of God, Prophet T. B. Joshua reminded the Church of the greatness of God and His ready disposition to forgive sins, however grievous some of these sins may be. In his words God is capable of doing anything and also forgiving any sin. To His power nothing is impossible. Breaking in on the choral music which had been reverberating all over the Church and to which the congregation responded in unison with elegant steps, Prophet T. B. Joshua enthusiastically spoke on the forgiving spirit of God with copious illustrations. In his words, the past is forgiven. We have seen a sinner’s character healed, the drunkard becoming sober, the harlot becoming chastened and the liar becoming truthful. “What then is the fear?” he asked the congregation. He spiritedly reminded his listeners that if they trust in God, that trust will save them. Trusting in the suffering of Christ is enough to save us, deliver us and make us whole. He concluded the sermon by advising the congregation to remain in trust.

WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?

Wise Man John Chi introduced his message with a series of questions.

How do we achieve a desired goal? Who wants to be saved? What must I do to be saved? He aptly referred the congregation to Acts 16: 29-32 which provided the answer to his questions: Believe in the Lord and you will be saved. According to him, God has promised salvation for whoever shall trust His Son. Race, age brackets, academic qualifications, wealth or any other attribute cannot save us outside Christ. If you are willing to be saved, Jesus is willing. Jesus brings hope and succour to those who trust Him. He is the bread to the hungry and road map to the lost. Whatever you are, you need Christ to be saved. God has a role to play in your salvation just as you too have a role to play. It takes your willingness and God’s ability to bring about your salvation.
Our hearts and minds must be reset to agree with God’s plan for our lives. You must get rid of those things that derail you from God. You cannot experience peace under the dominion of satan. Satan is sin. Another name for satan is sin.

Quoting Psalm 51:7 as a reference text the Wise Man admonished the congregation on the need to be cleansed of sins. According to him King David saw the need to be cleansed. Wash me with water whiter than snow and remove all impurity. David knew he would not have place in God’s kingdom unless he was washed from sins. In his sins, David could not see anything other than the fruit of sin: failure in the family, in the battle field etc. Unless you are cleansed of your sins, your blessing will receive challenges. The attitude of repentance and faith in your heart keeps you closer to God. Mistakes are correctable. If you make a mistake, don’t run from God; run to Him. Because David ran to God in spite of his sins, he remains one of the greatest Kings in Israel today. Your Father in Heaven has anticipated your sins and prepared for you. You have not committed an unpardonable sin. Our lives are in God’s hand and we cannot please Him without a thorough reformation of heart and life. God requires a heart that does not bear grudges. Doubts and unbelief put us on the wrong track. Jesus loves you just as He does any of His children. Jesus is able to forgive all our sins, he concluded.

THE SPIRIT OF APOSTLE PAUL HAS ARRIVED IN MACEDONIA

Wise Man, Harry and his wonderful performances in Macedonia attracted his comments. The prophet told the congregation that the crusade in Macedonia attracted a large turn out of participants. It was so wonderful and even comparable to those spiritually hosted by the prophet himself in Indonesia and Singapore. It had to be extended to the following day i.e. Sunday and Monday. Wise Man, Harry also revealed to Prophet T. B. Joshua his vision to be in Macedonia especially close to Paul and Silas’s prison for tourists to see the wonders of God.
A clip on the wonderful works being performed by Wise Man, Harry surfaced on the screen and the congregation watched with rapt interest.

RECONCILIATION OF BROKEN HOMES
Mr and Mrs Ifah brought out their children and Mrs Ifah, the spokesperson accused their daughter, Judith of witchcraft before the entire congregation. She narrated how a baby of hers died mysteriously after a period of excessive stooling. She painted a picture of lack of peace in their family and of the sickness of her husband which had defied healing.

The daughter, Judith Ifah confessed to being a witch and added that it was the result of the fruit juice which she accepted from one of her classmates. She said she told her mother the dream she had after taking the juice and her mother prayed for her. She revealed that the giver of the juice asked her to bring their baby to the coven and that was the cause of the baby’s death. She said that she ate the baby. She also revealed how she was advised to use a rope to tie her father to his bed and cause his health to deteriorate. All these feats would attract to her a second position in the witchcraft world.
In reaction, Prophet T.B. Joshua advised parents to bring up their children in the way of the Lord to have peace. The child in question was left in the hands of satan because of the parents’ carelessness. The prophet pronounced Judith a witch or demon possessed as presented by the parents.
He then asked the parents to lay hands on her and ask every unclean spirit to leave her. That was how Judith was delivered. The prophet however warned both parents not to call her a witch after the deliverances.

INTERNET VICTIM
A lady by name Memory, from Zimbabwe but living in South Africa confessed how she was hoodwinked promises of monetary offers on the internet. She was taught incantations which she mastered but none of the promises materialised. Instead, her marital home became bedevilled with problems to such an extent that she used the police to eject her husband from the home. She then pleaded with the man of God for deliverance. At the exclamation of the name, Jesus by one of the evangelists she fell down and was delivered.

ACCUSATION OF WITCHCRAFT
One Emmanuel Chijoke and his relations all of the Abraham family from Enugu complained about the problems of setback and deaths in their family attributing all this to their mother.
The genesis of the accusation was a crusade in Abuja at which one of Emmanuel’s cousins was a participant and where he was told by a man of God there that their mother was the brain behind all the woes in the family. The said man of God was then invited to Enugu where he confirmed his earlier vision that their mother was a witch and that only her head and shoulders was human; the chest down to the feet was vulture in appearance. Surprisingly to the family, their mother could not refute the accusation by the man of God. She complained that at that time, her eyes, ears and mouth were muffled and she could not talk.

She then challenged the family to take her to anywhere and they would realise that she is not a witch. This was the reason they came to the SCOAN.

In his verdict, the man of God pronounced the woman witchcraft negative and ordered the children to kneel down to her in apology.

FOOT ULCER HEALED
Before the prayer line, the participants of which were zoomed on the screen,
a lady, 20 year old Miss Sulman who was healed of foot ulcer came to give testimony and also made to show herself to those in the prayer line to reassure them of their healing

HIV AIDS TESTIMONIES
Three men and three women who were healed of HIV AIDS came to give their testimonies. Among them who spoke was 27 year old Mrs Motunrayo Sowemimo,

who was tested positive with Hiv aids type one in the Federal Ministry of Health, Abuja.

After the prayer line where she was declared free, she said she became stronger and ate with more relish.
She went back to the same hospital for another test but thanks to God, she was Hiv negative this time.

SCHOLARSHIP BENEFICIARIES

Miss Oduwole Olayinka

Miss Oduwole Olayinka, a youth worker in the church who came bagged 1st class (Electrical/Electronics), University of Lagos also got a scholarship award from the Church to do a Master degree in one of the best universities in the world. She consequently applied for admission and was offered same in three good universities in the United Kingdom. These were the Universities of Southampton, Edinburgh and that of Surrey.

She picked the University of Southampton as the best and the Church paid a total sum of £13,900 as her fees. Later and in consonance with the man of God’s crave for the best, the University College, London, offered her admission. Without hesitation, she changed her mind and picked the latest offer. A total sum of £18,245 was paid as fees for her to start classes on the 11th of October 2010.
The man of God seized the opportunity to advise the congregation to always look for the needy to help rather than waiting at home for the needy to come to them. In this way, according to the prophet, they would not be helping the wrong people.

TB Joshua Saw Train Derails In India

CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE CONFIRMATION

God continues to reveal Himself through His servants giving revelations of national and international importance. On Sunday 11th April 2010, during a Sunday live service at the SCOAN, Prophet T.B Joshua gave a prophetic message concerning a train that he saw being derailed in the nation of India. He said: “In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. As we were praying, I am seeing a train in the same place. I think something is wrong. This place – they need deliverance. A train – I am seeing it in India. A thousand people were inside. A train move out of rail and the whole people trapped. This is not even the modern one but the old one.”

That Sunday, towards the end of the service, Prophet T.B. Joshua called on the congregation and viewers worldwide reminding them to pray for the train in India which he had prophesied about earlier in the service. He said: “Open your lips. Remember to pray for this India train. It is very important. Love your neighbour as yourself. Fast and pray for the nation India. Take your time to do that. As you do that, the Lord will also do for you, in Jesus’ name.”

A month later, it happened. In the early hours of Friday 28th May, 2010, news broke out that a train packed with passengers derailed in India and slammed into a goods train in an apparent attack killing at least 15 people – a death toll which later rose to at least 81 as the rescue operation continued.

The train where the tragic incident occurred was in the exact country mentioned by Prophet TB Joshua in the prophecy – the country of India. News reported at least 81 people were killed with the death toll still rising and about 200 injured early on Friday when the Mumbai-bound passenger train derailed, after a part of the track was sabotaged, and was rammed by a goods train in a Maoist bastion of West Bengal. The passenger train was travelling from Calcutta to the Mumbai suburb of Kurla when 13 of its cars derailed. It was the third attack by Maoists on trains this year. Dead bodies were pulled out of the mangled wreckage where the two trains crashed in eastern India.

“In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. As we were praying, I am seeing a train in the same place. I think something is wrong. This place – they need deliverance. A train – I am seeing it in India. A thousand people were inside. A train move out of rail and the whole people trapped. This is not even the modern one but the old one.”

Home Minister P Chidambaram said the train derailment in West Midnapore appeared to be an act of sabotage but it was not yet clear whether explosives were used to blast the tracks.  “It appears to be a case of sabotage where a portion of the railway track was removed. Whether explosives were used is not yet clear,” he said in a statement. Indian officials gave different theories about the cause of the derailment.
Rescue workers with bolt cutters struggled to force their way into the most badly-damaged coaches to try and free anyone still alive inside. Paramedic teams treated the injured on the side of the track, while the most serious cases were taken away by air force helicopters.
Reports from the crash site described a scene of chaos with several passenger cars badly damaged and many dead and injured.
“A thousand people were inside. A train move out of rail and the whole people trapped.” Many passengers were trapped inside the mangled coaches. The passengers trapped in these coaches were crushed to death as the goods train engine rammed into it. Police, military and rescue services are currently still trying to free trapped passengers, whilst the death toll currently stands at 81 with over 200 more confirmed injuries. Helicopters have been brought in to help evacuate the injured to local hospitals, officials have stated. “It seems there are still a large number of passengers trapped in the carriages – dead or alive, we are not sure,” said Bhupinder Singh, the chief of police in West Bengal.
“There is a cut on the railway track and several compartments were derailed. At least four to five of them are badly damaged,” the state’s Home Secretary Samar Ghosh said, adding many passengers are still trapped inside the compartments.
Recall how the Prophet described the type of train that he had seen in the vision God had given him. “This is not even the modern one but the old one.”
The railway network is Asia’s oldest and the train involved in the incident was not the modern type of train but the old type just as the prophet had said.

“I think something is wrong. This place – they need deliverance. A train – I am seeing it in India.” The region in which the train crash occurred is considered somewhat of a stronghold for the Indian Maoist rebels, known as Naxalites, who have stepped up attacks in recent months. India’s 63,000-kilometer railway network, Asia’s oldest, is frequently hit by fatal accidents. As the Prophet said, something is wrong. This place they need deliverance.

Over two hundred injured passengers have been taken to local hospitals. The incident has been described as India’s worst rail disaster in seven years. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh expressed his grief over the death of Gyaneswari Express passengers and announced that compensation would be given to the families of the deceased and also for each of those who were seriously injured in the incident.

We at Emmanuel TV and the Synagogue, Church Of All Nations pray for the families who lost their loved ones in this tragic event. We also pray for the nation of India, the government and its citizens that God would manifest His strength in their situation and that out of the ashes of this tragedy, the Lord would bring a new resolve, determination, and desire to uphold the cause of justice, integrity and righteousness.

BENNY HINN IN ATHENS WITH THE SYNAGOGUE, CHURCH OF ALL NATIONS

Pastor Benny Hinn, the morning after holding a conference at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations, Greece Branch, granted this interview on Emmanuel TV concerning his ministry and Prophet TB Joshua:

hinn-000105-med
I pray the Lord will keep using you and blessing you, dear Pastor Joshua and may the Lord anoint you BIG TIME in Jesus’ name. Amen.

EMMANUEL TV: We’re here in Athens, Greece, right by the rock where Paul preached to the people of Athens in Acts 17 and we have the wonderful privilege to have with us world renowned healing evangelist, Pastor Benny Hinn with us. It’s a great honour to have you on the program, sir. We’d like to welcome you to the program first of all.

BENNY HINN: Thank you very much. I’m Benny Hinn and I’m glad to be talking to you.

EMMANUEL TV: We see in the Bible that great men have great habits. We can see the habits that people like Daniel had, praying everyday facing Jerusalem, or the Psalmist, praying 7 times a day or in the morning and evening. Great men have great habits. What are some of the habits that you have that have helped you in your ministry, sir?

BENNY HINN: Well, I would say the first that the Lord developed in me is reading His Word daily. I feel it’s so important that the Scriptures be a part of our daily life rather than every so often. So, I do not read the Bible to preach it; I read the Bible so I can be fed personally. So, I would tell every Christian, make the Bible a part of your daily life. Don’t just put the Bible on a shelf. Let the Bible live in you and that is really the greatest secret I can talk about.

EMMANUEL TV: Yes, it’s true. Using the Word of God in our daily lives is the secret of faith. From the Bible we can see that anything close to Jesus receives attack.

BENNY HINN: Well, yes. Persecution is a part of our life. Jesus said that we will have it. All that live godly will suffer persecution, Paul wrote. So, that’s not something to be kind of wondering, why? Last night one of the pastors was asking me about how I handle this. I said, well, I’ll tell you honestly, I said, if I’m not persecuted, I think something is wrong. Because the devil does not fight those who are for him, he only fights those who are against him. If we oppose him, then we’ll be attacked. So, I rejoice by the fact that people attack and persecute someone like me. In fact, it’s one of those things I thank God for, believe it or not. I really do. So, persecution is a part of the Christian walk but what I said earlier, the Holy Spirit is the key to our survival and so, when we know Him as a person – this is the greatest thing I can tell you, precious people of God, when we know Him as a real person. I mean, your name is David, right? When I look at David, I don’t see an IT, I see a person. I talk to him and I listen to him. He listens to me. Personality is important. You’re not a spirit and you’re not a body. You’re more than that. You’re a person. Even though you are a spirit, even though I’m looking at a body – because that’s all we can see in the natural. Only God sees the real person on the inside but I’m talking to a person and I’m enjoying listening to what you have to ask me. Well, the same thing. The Holy Spirit is a person.

EMMANUEL TV: Joseph, on his journey to the throne in God’s promise for him, he encountered many trials, being unjustly imprisoned and such. What advice can you give to our viewers who, on their journey to God’s promise, are encountering trials of different kinds? What advice can you give to them?

BENNY HINN: Well, trials make us strong. Trials don’t weaken us if we know how to handle them. Look, I can tell you this, I have been through more trouble than I think most people alive. I’ve had enough trouble to live 10 lives. So, you talk about trials, you are talking to the right person. I’m still going through them. I’ll continue to go through them as long as I live and serve the Lord. How do you handle them? Okay, that’s a great question. Number one, you must see Jesus. If you don’t, you will lose. If Jesus is not our focus, if He’s not the One who we see daily, the Bible says, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. I’ve discovered one thing, that the person of Christ, the person of Jesus, His very presence, is the key to strength. Remember what it says in Isaiah. They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. But then it says something amazing. It says, they shall mount up with wings as eagles. In other words, we become discerning to the winds of the Spirit. Like the eagle doesn’t take off, it doesn’t soar, until it discerns the current of the winds before it takes off. But then it says, they shall run and not be weary, walk and not faint. In other words, we’re going to catch up to where God wants us and then there’ll be fellowship with Him. So, there’s 4 keys to walking with the Lord – but the key, the real thing we have to do is seek Jesus. So, you’re telling me what do I do in my trials? Well, there’s only two things to do – run to the Lord or from the Lord. If you run away from Jesus, you’re in trouble. It’s foolish. If you run to Jesus, you become stronger because He is our place of safety. There is no place to go to. I mean, look, I’ve had trials. Believe me when I tell you, I’ve almost given up and I don’t want to scare anybody when I say something like this. If the Lord showed me the trials I would go through, I would have said, Lord thank You, let somebody else do this job. Because serving God is a battle. I mean, everything in this life is a war. We don’t realize that the anointing is for war – it’s not for picnics. When God anointed David, the first thing he did was fight Goliath and then God anoints him again when he became king in Hebron and he fights the house of Saul. Then God anoints him again and he fights the Jebusites. He was always fighting. Well, the early church is the same. The power came and they were opposed by the Pharisees. So, but it’s something that’s very important that I have discovered. We must come to know the person and I mean the substance, of Christ Jesus. We can’t just say, well, I know the Lord from a distance. That’s impossible. You cannot know him from a distance, you’ll not survive. Trials come to all of us but Jesus is our protection. He keeps us going. Yeah sure, there’ve been times I’ve said, Lord, I don’t know if I can make it. I don’t know if I can handle it. But I have found Him to be very strong, stronger than anything you can imagine. His strength is eternal. There is no limit to the Lord’s strength. So, whatever big, big massive trial or whatever you want to talk about, it’s nothing to God. We go there and bam – like that, everything’s fixed. So that’s the secret. Jesus is the secret to your strength – it’s that simple.

EMMANUEL TV: His strength is manifest in our weakness, just like Apostle Paul preached.

BENNY HINN: Brother, you have it right there.

EMMANUEL TV: It’s wonderful just to share with you, Benny, the sweet story of our Lord Jesus Christ.

BENNY HINN: Can we pray, of course. Dear Jesus, Lord I pray with David for the people watching from this holy location in Athens. Precious Lord, I pray that every one of them will be strengthened in You, every one of them will live for You, knowing Your Spirit’s presence. I pray that every one of them will be strong in the Lord and in Your mighty power. Precious Lord, I pray every one of them will stand before You on that day, hearing Your Words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant”. So, I pray, keep us all in Your loving care. Your Word says, “Now, unto Him that’s able to keep us from falling and present us to the throne with joy, blameless with joy, to the only wise God, be glory. Thank you for Your power and Your dear presence, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

BENNY HINN: Well, God bless you. I really enjoyed this and I must say, I did watch your network and I’m going to tell all of you precious saints support this great outreach to the world because without Christian television, we cannot plough the land, nor sow seed, nor reap the harvest. Christian television is God’s tool for evangelism today. So, keep it strong. Today, if Paul the ApostlePaul the Apostle was alive, who preached right here, if Paul was alive, he would use every means possible to get the Gospel to the nations. But Christian television cannot survive without your support. Through a Christian network, like Emmanuel, this network cannot be selling products like you see secular networks. They sell something to you every few minutes. We cannot do that. That’s why a Christian ministry is dependent on gifts and donations. It must come from your heart. And not only are you being used of God, remember something, your money is a weapon in the hands of the Lord against the devil. When you support Christian TV, God uses that money for the Gospel and the devil’s power is broken in people’s lives. Keep supporting this network. I’m telling you, I’ve watched it in California. I saw that dear man, that pastor in Africa who has this massive building, Pastor Joshua. And I was so amazed to see this amazing man of God. But you know,

bennyhinn
I would most certainly accept an invitation from Pastor Joshua to come to Nigeria.

the thing is this, it’s because of Christian television that he and others and myself are able to preach the Gospel to the world. The Gospel is the only answer to this world’s troubles. There’s no political solution. There’s no financial solution. It’s a spiritual solution and Jesus is the answer to the world’s needs and His Gospel must be preached. Paul said, “Necessity is laid upon me” and necessity is laid on us. Let me just finish by saying one thing – it cost God nothing to create the world. It cost Him nothing to create man. It cost Him everything to save one soul. Think about it. It cost Him nothing to create this beautiful world. It cost Him nothing to create man. I think God was having a marvellous time when He was creating man. It cost Him everything to save one life. It cost Him His own blood to save.

BENNY HINN: Keep watching Emmanuel TV and support Emmanuel TV. So, send in your donations and gifts to this great network andwatch what God will do for you. Keep watching Emmanuel TV and support Emmanuel TV and God bless all of you. Thank you.

BENNY HINN MESSAGE TO TB JOSHUA: Pastor, keep up the good work and preach the Gospel like you do so powerfully and teach God’s precious Word and I would love to someday meet you and fellowship with you. You know, we men of God need to come together and I would most certainly accept an invitation from Pastor Joshua to come to Nigeria. I’ve been to that country of course a number of times when I used to come preach for Benson Idahosa and I’ve preached for other great men of course and we’ve had our own crusade there in Lagos but with pleasure, of course. Thank you, thank you. I pray the Lord will keep using you and blessing you, dear Pastor Joshua and may the Lord anoint you BIG TIME in Jesus’ name. Amen.

GHANA FIFA WORLD CUP VICTORY: TB JOSHUA DID NOT GLORIFY HIMSELF

“Is it Africa? Is it Africa? It is!” These were the words that came from the commentator’s mouth in the dying seconds of that historical game – it was a moment which will be forever etched in the hearts of all those that watched the match. Friday 16thOctober, 2009 was a special day for all Africans who tuned in to watch the live World Cup Match – Ghana’s Black Satellite’s versus Brazil. Ghana became the first African team to win the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Cairo, Egypt. It was indeed Africa! With celebrations underway in Ghana and other nations of Africa, a much publicised issue seemed to overtake and almost overshadow the African victory. Rather than news media focusing on the African victory, TB Joshua became the focus of their attention.

TB Joshua had apparently spoken to Coach Sellas Tetteh before and during the match and with his prophetic insight guided the Black Satellite’s to a World Cup victory through telephone conversations by specifying which player should take the penalty shoot-outs. Everything was recorded and played during the live service on Emmanuel TV with footage showing TB Joshua speaking with both Coach Tetteh and the Number 10 player whom he advised should play the first penalty. It was a surprise to many. Controversy was sparked.

Many Ghana media criticised TB Joshua of proclaiming he was the reason for the Black Satellite’s victory against Brazil. Angry insults were hurled at the Nigerian Prophet and things really got out of hand with many believing that this event had undermined men of God in Ghana and Ghanaians in general. Knowing that there are always two sides to a story, it was quite surprising to hear little from the accused himself – TB Joshua. Perhaps being a man of God, he chose not to retaliate. Having listened to TB Joshua talk concerning the event, I was humbled by his own account. “The coach called me in the morning of the battle in Egypt and said I should join them in prayers. I considered this as a great honour because there are many great men of God in Ghana that had also been standing in the gap for the team. And I was one of these called to join in prayer for the team. There are great men of God in Ghana. We are all prayer warriors…”

During his Sunday service broadcast live on Emmanuel TV, TB Joshua actually modestly stated that he was the least of the pastors and that he felt humbled that God would use him when there are greater men of God in Ghana. He further stated, “One thing you must know about ministers of God, we cannot change God’s opinion. We can only know God’s will concerning the situation and when we know God’s will concerning the situation, we tell you. When we tell you, it will help you to guard against mistake and error. We are servants; we are just being used”.

Does this sound like someone who is claiming glory for himself? TB Joshua recognises himself as a servant of God. A true man of God boasts not in what he does for God but boasts in what God does in his life and he never exalts himself above God. TB Joshua never for a moment exalted himself but sought and spoke the mind of God – nothing more. As he said, “The secret is that there is no way I will come out and say, we will win. But what I can do, as a man of God, is to seek the mind of God concerning any situation and interpret the mind of God correctly without removing or adding anything. That is the work of prophets – to deliver God’s message as you receive it,”

TB Joshua - We are who, where and what we are by grace. Let no man boast.
TB Joshua - We are who, where and what we are by grace. Let no man boast.

I was quite saddened by the discrimination this Nigerian pastor faced on the basis of his nationality, particularly as he himself believed, in this event, that as men of God, they were all united in one spirit and one body to pray for the nation Ghana and their players – the Black Satellite’s. Being a Ghanaian myself, I have to admit that I was ashamed at undeserved criticism and treatment he received. Why did it matter that God used a Nigerian pastor to guide a Ghanaian victory? Indeed I am sure that if God had used a man of God who happened to be Ghanaian to successfully guide a Nigerian World Cup victory, we would not complain. This would have been a perfect occasion to prove our African unity amongst other nations of the world.

I humbly address my people, Ghanaians – let us stop criticizing one another out of jealousy, ignorance or misunderstandings. I believe that if we embrace pastors, men of God and prophets from other nations in humility, that God will exalt us as a nation to accomplish great feats which extend way beyond football!

TB JOSHUA SPEAKS OUT ON SATELLITES SAGA

In an interview with The Spectator of Nigeria, TB Joshua has played down his role in the Satellites historic World Cup victory last week, explaining he is a mere mouthpiece and the glory belongs to God alone. Interestingly, his comments are reputed to have been made on Sunday, before the controversy exploded throughout Ghana in which claims were made the Nigerian Pastor ascribed the glory to himself.

TB Joshua - a prophet of God is a communicator between the visible and the invisible

“The coach called me in the morning of the battle in Egypt and said I should join them in prayers,” Joshua told The Spectator. “I considered this as a great honour because there are many great men of God in Ghana that had also been standing in the gap for the team. And I was one of these called to join in prayer for the team. There are great men of God in Ghana. We are all prayer warriors.”

Prophet Joshua would not want anyone to ascribe any power to him over his reported intervention during the match against Brazil. “The secret is that there is no way I will come out and say we will win. But what I can do, as a man of God, is to seek the mind of God concerning any situation and interpret the mind of God correctly without removing or adding anything. That is the work of prophets – to deliver God’s message as you receive it,” he said, painting a different picture to the publicity-mongering image portrayed by some Ghanaian media-houses.

Proceeding to advise others in the sporting world, Joshua said: “My advice to our sports teams, not only footballers, it to play the game as if everything depends on us and pray as if everything depends on God.”

SCATTERED! Eleven Children, One Wife, No Home Living Amidst Refuse And Rubbish For Over Three Years

THE STOPPING INTERVAL OF TB JOSHUA

A touching tale penned by TB Joshua recounting experiences in his early life that served to prepare him for the task ahead.

In our spiritual walk with the Lord, we have good times and hard times. When the going is good, we say we are in good times. When the going is tough, we say we are experiencing hard times. Remember, life itself is a mission. While we are on the go, we need to stop between steps, to re-focus on the Word and the Will of God.

While we are on the go, I mean, while we are on the mission, we need to sometimes stop at intervals to assess our progress and prepare ourselves for the challenges ahead.

Certain challenges on our way usually make us stop awhile – I mean, for a moment. When you stop awhile, you are not down. What are these challenges? They could come in the form of sickness, failure, setback, imprisonment, poverty. For instance, if I receive a sack letter from my very lucrative job, there is a natural tendency for me to cry and lament, if I do not view the situation from the maturity that comes from faith. It takes faith to realise that the situation is a mere stopping interval – a short break between two events.

I do not need to go very far to cite or give an example of what I am saying because my experience in life is enough to illustrate this philosophy or principle of life. As we said earlier, many things could cause one to stop between steps. I could still remember vividly when I sat for and passed the entrance examination into the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna. I was

"I was invited for the interview and I had to board the train from Lagos to Kaduna."

invited for the interview and I had to board the train from Lagos to Kaduna. Behold, on our journey the train developed some serious faults that kept us in the bush in Jebba for six horrible days with little or no provision. Remember, I was going for an interview that was billed to hold the following day. I was on the railway line in Jebba while the interview was going on in Kaduna and there was nothing I could do to help the situation as I lacked the means to arrange for an alternative way of transporting myself to the venue of the interview, so I missed the whole thing.

This was how the ambition to enlist into the military was aborted by what was obviously an act of fate. Who knows what would have happened if I had successfully attended that interview. I actually felt very bitter I had missed another chance of making it in life.

With a very heavy heart I went to the village to complain to my mother of how so many opportunities had slipped by. Little would I have reasoned that it was one of those stops between steps in my spiritual walk with God until my mother did her best to calm me down, saying: “My son, do not mind the seeming appearance of things as of today. If I am ever confident of any child, you are that child. Do not be afraid of what the future holds for you, because I know if anyone is destined to fail, you are not the one. So, be patient and you would see what God would do in your life. I am so sure of your future breakthrough, considering the strength of the predictions and prophecies about you even before you were born. I cannot forget so easily what I experienced when I was pregnant with you, and I know God cannot lie. My son, whatever you may be going through today, just take it as a temporary setback, meant to prepare you for the challenges ahead. Don’t forget your name is “Temitope” and, by the grace of God, the whole world shall have the cause to thank God for your sake.”

After this encounter with my mother, I began to look at whatever came my way with a more mature mind whose focus was on God alone. I mean, the maturity that comes from faith in the finished works of our Lord Jesus Christ. My case was already settled in Heaven. Here I am today in your midst; I can boast of what God is doing for us. Hallelujah! You are all witnesses.

In my spiritual walk with God I have experienced both good and hard times.

Who knows what would have happened if those temporary stops did not come at intervals. Consider how my education suffered epileptic fits; today I am in school, the next day I am out. Remember, when God is executing His plan in our lives, He also designs and arranges events which continue to unfold until His purpose is revealed. The ups and downs in my education were part of the events that revealed the purpose of God in my life. Remember, the man who is poor is not the man that has no money, but one without a dream. They are suffering that have no dream. They are poor that have no dream.

Before I knew it, I had gone around six different colleges in less than one year. I enrolled for the examinations of JAMB (Joint Admission and Matriculation Board) four times and on each occasion it was either I forgot my acknowledgement card and other necessary documents or there was an accident on the way to the exam venues. People who saw what was happening to me simply attributed my predicament to either sin or non-seriousness on my part. But those with the maturity that comes from faith, like my mother, saw it as mere stopping intervals or natural stops in my spiritual walk with God.

In James 4:7, we are told to submit ourselves to God and resist the devil. If we examine carefully our attitudes toward certain situations, we would see how much we willingly submit ourselves to the devil each time we view things with the maturity that comes from the experience rather than of faith. The maturity that comes from experience is based on what is seen, what is heard and what circumstances look like. When your maturity is derived from circumstantial factors other than faith, your level of maturity would continue to fluctuate rather than being stable. This is why I am enabled to maintain a balance and stable approach to the challenges that come my way every day. I am not moved by what people say or do concerning my relationship with God. I submit myself to His direct will which is good and perfect with no evil in it.

Sometimes, God uses foolish things to strengthen our desire for Him.

In Luke 22:32, Jesus said to Peter, “I pray that your faith would not fail”. This means, all men make mistakes but people of God get back up. Certainly we would fall, but with Jesus supporting our position, we would soon get back up.

TB Joshua Is Like Every Other Man On The Street…

Earlier this year in an interview with The Guardian Newspapers, the presitigious and renowned Nigerian newspaper, TB Joshua spoke on a range of intriguing issues…

TB Joshua

TB Joshua

Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, founder of The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) was recently mentioned among the world’s leading faith healers by America’s TIME Magazine. He was also awarded the National Honour of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) by the government in recognition of his humanitarian activities. He spoke to TOPE TEMPLER OLAIYA at his church’s headquarters in Ikotun, Lagos on what the award means to him and why his church attracts high-profile visitors.
“If not for the grace of God, I would be like any other man on the street…” TB Joshua

First, how do you feel with the National Honour bestowed on you by Mr. President?

Honour where? You mean the one that was given to me in January. Well, that is not new to me and is not something special to me. As you can see for yourself, a lot of people, organisations, government, home and abroad and even foreign missions have been honouring the grace of God upon my life. Just last week, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) presented me with an award. But then, the honour is not meant for me, it belongs to God. I am just a vessel God is using.

First, it was your meeting with the Governor General of the State of Bahamas in the early 90s, followed by the visit of President Frederick Chiluba of Zambia, a few years later. Since then, other world leaders have come to visit you, most recently, was the new President of Ghana, Prof. John Atta Mills and you are preparing to receive a South African leader in the next few days, what do you think is the source of attraction?
It is a simple answer; it is because their needs are met. People will always be attracted to wherever their needs will be met; and the needs of men vary. What I want and like might be different from what you want; so, you will always go to where your needs are met. It is not in my power, it is God, who is answering the needs of his people. Even in the Bible, people travel far and wide to where their needs will be met. Also, the work of God is like honey. Wherever honey is, insects seek and find it. When God is doing a new thing in a place, people are attracted there. So, these presidents and other foreign nationals come to the church, because of what God is doing here.

Despite this, most Nigerians have still not acknowledged what God is using you to do. Why is it so?
You see, every man of God has his gift. This is my own area. In the academic world, we have professors of English, Chemistry, and Mathematics. If some people do not need my gift, this does not mean that it is not needed somewhere. If what you have is not needed now, that does not mean that it will not be needed tomorrow. So, it would be too soon to begin to say this and it would be too soon to praise or come to the conclusion you have drawn now. God’s time is the best. Sometimes, what you need at the end might be the most important thing to you. Let me give you a good example: a friend you discover later in life may be the most important friend you would cherish more than the friend you have had from the beginning of your life.

Apart from the headquarters’ church in Lagos, which has become a tourist attraction, do you have other branches of the church?
Branches everywhere is not the issue, what is the issue now is making disciples of Christ out of men, making another T.B. Joshua. If this could be possible in the life of Elisha and Elisha came out of Elijah even more powerful than his master, why not also in our time, so that after I am gone, there will be men who God would raise up to achieve His purpose in the world. That is the biggest reward God can give to his servant. Like they always say, there is no success without a good successor. The greatest honour will be to make disciples who will do better than what we are presently doing.

Do you see your children taking after your ministry in the Synagogue?
The ministry is not a will; it is not a property you can will to your children. It is a spiritual inheritance and the Bible talks about the inheritance of saints. You must meet God’s condition and no human hand can be employed to do the work of God, neither can the mouth do the work of God. It is not a matter of ‘I can speak good grammar’, it is only God that will choose who He wants. It is predestined, as it should be by divine will. I cannot force my children to follow in my footsteps, they have to decide on their own, and I can only point them to the way we also have followed. I cannot give them the power because I am not the owner of the power. I can only do my best to train them in the way of the Lord and if they are ready to follow and make a difference, it is their choice, not mine.

Who is T.B. Joshua?
Joshua is a man like you. I am like anybody else on the street; the only difference in my life is the grace of God. That is the difference and that is what separates me from the man on the street. But with that, because I am a man who has known what it is to lack, I do not close my eyes to the needy. Because I am somebody who has experienced what it is to be poor and without money, I give of what I have to help the poor, because I am a man who knows what it is to be hungry, I give food to feed the poor and those who are hungry, as a way of appreciating the grace of God upon my life because if not for the grace of God, I would be like any other man on the street.
