Open Heart Necessary to understand Prophet TB Joshua of SCOAN (Not a Bethlehem Without a Room for Jesus Christ)

tb joshuaAccording to the Scripture, by prophet Micah, it was prophesied that our Lord Jesus Christ would be born in Bethlehem, “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for Me One who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times” (Micah 5:2). That’s exactly where Jesus was born, “She gave birth to her first-born, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn”, (Luke 2:7). Bethlehem could not find a better place where their prophesied Ruler was to be born. It’s just like today where each person prefers to tongue down every prophet of God, true prophet or not.

All that was prophesied about Jesus happened and brought about public recognition to Joseph, an obscure carpenter and His mother an unknown Mary. But while would Bethlehem have no room for such a great personality of Bethlehem? The local innkeepers might just be some ordinary individuals but with no knowledge about Joseph, Mary or even their son Jesus Christ. Nevertheless, the manger where Jesus was to have been born has become a visiting site for tourists in Israel forever. Similarly, many go to the Synagogue Church of All Nations, (SCOAN), Lagos, only as spectators or expecting only to be healed but with no knowledge of the purpose of prophet TB Joshua, faith in Jesus Christ or who Jesus Christ truly is. We recognise them as “Bethlehem without a room for Jesus”. Everyone needs to open up his or her heart for Jesus to come in and abide therein permanently.

History is building up in Nigeria from SCOAN but most people cannot see because their hearts are closed and they look at TB Joshua with mere physical eyes. Prophet TB Joshua is a prophet of Jesus Christ from Nigeria but with a unique message to bring many to the saving light of God in Christ Jesus. The prophet wants to be known by his love as he serves Jesus through ministering to people’s needs. This love is shown through the multiple of miracles and deliverance services aired by Emmanuel TV. Those who benefit from the deliverance service of SCOAN must go and preach Christ to all others because they now have open hearts. It is like when the shepherds said one to another, “Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.” Hence, let us have open hearts to receive Jesus and spread Him abroad, even as we visit SCOAN, a ministry that is vigorously practically preaching Christ in truth. In time the entire Christian body is enriched and God is glorified.

Therefore if Jesus knocks at your door today kindly open your heart to Him. In Jesus days religious leaders failed to recognise Jesus and they opposed Him till they had Him nailed on the cross wrongly. But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name; Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God, (John 1: 12-13).

PROPHETIC REVELATION RECONCILES BROKEN MARRIAGE

Mrs Gloria Abhiwu from Ghana received a prophecy from Prophet T.B. Joshua regarding broken home in the family. At the prophet’s word, she broke down in tears. Confirming the word of prophecy, last week she had narrated that after marrying her husband in 2011, there had been no peace in the home. Her husband had confessed to her that he didn’t have any affection for her to the extent that he returned the wedding ring. After giving the word of prophecy, Prophet T.B. Joshua invited her husband, Dr Hilarious Abhiwu, a medical superintendent from Ghana and he attended The SCOAN to honour the prophet’s invitation. He explained that the prophecy was nothing but the truth which he had never confessed to anyone. He narrated that the marriage started on a wrong footing. Since the day they met each other, she kept on talking about marriage to the extent that her family was mounting pressure on him to marry their daughter. They attended marriage counselling due to his doubt in the marriage and she still had to convince him to tie the knot. Initially, he wanted to postpone the marriage but because of the pressure, he finally married her. Mr Abhiwu was speaking with bitterness that he had to abandon his education and economy because of the marriage, while his wife stayed with her parents for two years. Her mother put a lot of pressure on her daughter to get pregnant.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Prophet T.B. Joshua invited the mother of Mrs Abhiwu in order to settle the matter.

Today, the mother of Gloria, Mrs Theresa Agbovi having honoured the invitation of the man of God, Prophet T.B. Joshua, received instructions in righteousness from the man of God of how to allow the young marriage to grow as it was a marriage from Heaven. The man of God said, “We need to thank our mum for her support”. Praying with the young couple, Prophet T.B. Joshua reconciled them, in Jesus name promising to counsel them further for the success of their marriage. As husband and wife embraced themselves, the prophet prayed for them and they both fell under the anointing of God. Now delivered from the pain of the past, they are set to face whatever challenges their marriage will face. Whatever deep hurt was caused by either party, they chose to hold on to the words of Prophet T.B. Joshua, “Whether you are right or wrong, you have no right to hold on to an offence”.

Evagelist Ruth – YOUR SEAT IS STILL THERE

EVANGELIST RUTHEvangelist Ruth had earlier assured Christians of the constancy of their place in God in a message titled ‘YOUR SEAT IS STILL THERE’. Referring to a couple of biblical stories, with special focus on the story of ‘The Prodigal Son’, she observed that, irrespective of the flaws of a child of God, he or she still retains a place in the Father’s house. But that is made possible only through repentance and reconciliation. In other words, every true believer will always be accepted back and restored to his or her place of glory in God if only there is true remorse and repentance.

“When a Christian wrongs God, fellowship is broken but he does not lose his place as a son or daughter of God. No matter what you feel about yourself, no matter what you feel about God, your seat is still there and Jesus is always there to reconcile you”. January 3, 2016 ushered in the first Sunday Service of the year with joy as it assured worshippers of their place in God’s plan, irrespective of their human frailties.

FRACTURED BONES HEALED IN JESUS’ NAME

Maria Ogbu came to The SCOAN after she suffered an accident which fractured her tibia and fibula bones. This problem affected her as an officer and she had to move with the aid of crutches. Her husband was the one who was doing all the chores in the house. She was taken to the hospital where the doctors recommended that she undergo amputation. That prompted her to come to The SCOAN where she was privileged to be at the Prayer Line. The man of God, Prophet T.B. Joshua prayed for her and during the prayer, she felt the fractured bones coming together. Prophet T.B. Joshua then commanded her in the name of Jesus to walk and she began to walk. Now she testifies that she can do those things she could not do before and can go back to her job as an officer. For further confirmation, she showed the medical reports stating her health status before and after her healing. Mr John Ogbu, husband to Maria testified that her situation was really terrible. During this time, she could not do anything. He had to do everything for her and this began to affect his job. He glorified God for healing her after her visit to The SCOAN Prayer Line.

MAN’S JUDGEMENT – WEEK 7 DEVOTION

Man’s judgement is a judgement that is based only on what is seen, heard and on what the circumstances look like. This kind of judgement is limited and cannot understand God. When you base your judgement only on what is seen, heard and on what the circumstances look like, you have not looked deep enough to the heart. As a child of God, look deep enough to the heart by focusing on what God says about the situation at hand.

Instead of listening to what Jesus’ message was all about, the people from His hometown were calling Him a carpenter’s son. Jesus struggled His way out of a pit of questions. Those questions were; How did this man get such learning without having studied? ‘Are you not the son of Joseph?’ That is, ‘Are you not the same boy that we grew up together with?’

People of God! you can grow up with a boy who was a hooligan and you have been living upright; you may later see the boy become a man of honour and authority, by the grace of God. This is the mystery of grace: God takes unlikely people puts them into His palace for eternity. That is, Christ shows them that dominion was generally abused in this world. Can you see that broken things become useful in God’s hands?

You who complain of your miserable background, cheer up for there is hope for you. Jesus Christ, the son of the living God is our eternal Hope. In the midst of your misery, look unto Jesus, for your misery is the object of His mercy. By His grace and mercy you will cry no more, you will be oppressed no more, you will be disappointed no more, you will be sick no more and you will be poor no more. What amazing blessings these really are!…..Prophet TB Joshua.

PROFESSING AFFINITY TO CHRIST – WEEK 6 DEVOTION

A Christian is one whose life comes from Christ. Many today, accept the name of Jesus Christ but not the life of Jesus Christ. When I say, ‘The life of Jesus Christ’, I mean God’s kind of lifestyle which is a lifestyle based on positive faith: that is, positive thinking, positive talking and positive acting. However, we profess affinity to Christ according to the flesh, while we are unchanged in the heart and life. Many become Christians, born-again with self-effort. Self-effort is a wrong attitude toward sin and it leaves us with urge; urge to do the wrong things. It is pertinent to note that without the Holy Spirit destroying the root of sin in us, we are bound to be tormented by our desire to return to our bad habits. Psalms 66:18 says, “If I regard sin – iniquity, in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.” We are made in our heart to be like Jesus. True Christianity lies in the heart – in the purity of the heart. On the last day, we will be judged not by the colour of our skin but by the content of our character. James 1:22 reads, “But be doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving yourself.’’ Many people say, ‘I’m born again, I gave my life to Christ 25 years ago…’ This means you are a divine image bearer of God; you mirror Jesus. The challenge many Christians, believers, pastors and the rest are facing, is the problem of urge behind closed doors – urge to do many bad habits. Many Christians, Bible students, church people are studying the Word but have failed to act on or do the Word. The mind is renewed by studying the Word and acting upon it. One may study the Word for years; if he or she is not a doer, the mind cannot be renewed. Meditation in the Word is a visit to Him. When you meditate on God’s Word, you bring God’s power onto the scene.

EXPERIENCE GOD – WEEK 5 DEVETION

Jesus Christ is reachable; you are not far from God.
No state of being is as rewarding as living in tune with God! Everyone has a desire to experience God because He has set eternity in the hearts of men. Apostle Paul says in Philippians 3:7-11:
“But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.”
When you have a relationship with Jesus Christ you change and become a man/ woman who is directed by your heavenly Father and not by the influence from men or circumstances. If you want to experience God and be all God has called you to be, you have got to spend your time with Him and learn from Him at His feet.

SEEKING HEAVEN ON EARTH – WEEK 4 DEVOTION

Everyone is exposed to trouble because trouble does not require any invitation before it comes. But as a Christian, your trouble is not like others; it is for the glory of God. Trouble comes not because we have taken any wrong step but because we are in a complex and contradictory world. This world is not our home, we are just passing through. That you choose to serve the Lord in truth and faith does not mean that you will not encounter troubles or trials but the Lord promises to see

SEEKING HEAVEN ON EARTH

you through. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, God’s children are passing through this troubled world to a place prepared for them – a place without sorrow; this is not Heaven. I mean that we are here for a short season, there will be thorns in our flesh, there will be things poking us, there will be things disappointing us. If you are seeking to have Heaven here on earth, then you are thinking and working against what the Bible says in John 16:33, that in this world, you will have trouble. Take heart – as Christians, we have a building from God. We have a firm and well grounded expectation of future felicity.

LET GOD’S WILL BE DONE – WEEK 3 DEVOTION

It is the will of God to answer prayer and God accepts the prayer of faith but does not always answer it to the letter. So, as you are praying for a solution to your problem, remember that asking God for a specific thing will amount to limiting God to a specific answer. Do not let your situation dictate the direction of your prayer. Pray as Jesus prayed in Luke 22:41-43, ‘Father, not My will but Your will be done’.“Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him. On reaching the place, he said to them, ‘Pray that you will not fall into temptation.’ He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, ‘Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.’ An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him” (Luke 22:39-43).

Jesus Christ purchased our deliverance, healing and blessing at the price of great suffering. Look to the Cross by faith – faith in the finished works of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. In mercy, He call us and healed us. In mercy, He called us and delivered us. In mercy, He called us and blessed us. And most important of all, in mercy, He called us and saved us. In mercy, you are not excluded. Don’t limit God but let His will be done in your life. He knows the best and will always work out the best.

FAITH – THE HEAVENLY FREQUENCY WEEK 2 DEVOTION

In your challenges in life, faith is there for you. When you are sick, facing a financial crisis, marital problem or other hardship, faith is there for you. Every person is given a measure of faith. Faith is the Heavenly currency. You need faith to act with God. Faith is like a Heavenly coin. If you want to buy food on this earth, you need money to buy it. But for things celestial, things in Heaven like healing, deliverance and salvation, you cannot get them in the market with money like things you need on earth. Those things in Heaven, we use faith to purchase them.

How much money you have will determine how much goods you will buy. How much faith you have determines how much blessing you will receive. The amount of faith you have will determine how much blessing you will be able to accommodate. Faith releases healing, deliverance, blessing anointing. So, to receive these Heavenly things, you need faith. If you are without faith, you cannot purchase anything. Faith is Heavenly currency that we use to purchase Heavenly things. In your challenges in life, use your faith to put a demand because healing, deliverance, blessing anointing is available. I pray your faith will not fail.

YOUR FOCUS – WEEK 1 DEVOTION

We are celebrating today because focus was not broken. In other words, we are here because Jesus kept His eyes on His goal. He kept His purpose in the forefront of His mind. Even as a young child, Jesus knew who He was and what He was all about.
Luke 2:49, “ ‘Why were you searching for me?’ He asked. ‘Didn’t you know I had to be in My Father’s house?’ ”
His God-given purpose was what He was born for, lived for and died for. That is why Jesus was able to say as He hung on the Cross, ‘It is finished’.
Are you focusing on your goal? If you decide on your direction, God will give you the energy for the distance but you have to be focused on your goal. Your focus is your personal decision.
Why do many people start off so well but soon derail? Broken focus is the main reason men fail. Make sure to include God in decision making if you don’t want to end up in failure by following the instruction given to Joshua, “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful” (Joshua 1:8).

BY CHRIST’S ORDER – DEVOTION

When we are tired and sick of our worldly business and frustrated in our worldly affairs, we are welcome to Christ. Jesus Christ is a democrat; He does not impose Himself or His will on anyone. He allows us to exhaust whatever worldly advantages we feel we have so that when we have learnt our lessons, we would value Him. The case of Peter is a good example. That he had laboured and toiled without anything to show for his many years of self-determination, self-confidence, human diligence and professional experience was evident in the way he sat frustrated at the seaside after the fruitless night of fishing. From Peter’s complaints, we could feel the level of bitterness and pain in his heart, even as he confesses his helpless and hopeless state, saying, “Master, we have toiled all the night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net” (Luke 5:5).

BY CHRIST’S ORDER

Here, Peter had demonstrated that, in spite of all the odds, there was still need to maintain self-control and submit to the One whose will was superior. He simply said, ‘…if You say so, I will let down the net’. In other words, he was saying to Jesus, “Who am I that I should disobey Your instruction? I know that if I assume the character of a fisherman under any authority that does not proceed from You, I am bound to catch nothing. But if I labour by Your order and under Your direction, I am sure I cannot labour in vain. So, I will let down the net”. It was not by mere chance that Jesus chose Peter’s boat at the seaside; it was by providential arrangement. When God is executing His plans in our lives, He also designs and arranges events which continue to unfold until His purpose is revealed. Remember, our only duty is to obey God’s commands; His duty is to keep His promises, and these two duties never conflict. Obeying God at first seems hard, until we come to see that all He asks is for our good and makes life full and free. The way of obedience is the way of blessing.

I AM WIRED TB JOSHUA WEEKLY DEVOTION

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).
Apostle Paul was able to make this bold declaration of faith because he was wired to God, the Creator of Heaven and earth in a unique way. When you are wired to God in a unique way, nothing can separate you from the love of God. Today, our trials can separate us from Jesus because we are not wired to Him. Today’s language is only heard with the ears but the language God uses in the Bible must be heard with our hearts. When you become wired to God, the Holy Spirit affects your words and you begin to speak the language God used in the Bible to create and save us, to heal and bless us, to judge and rule over us.
When you hear God’s Word in your heart, you begin to get God’s ideas, work with His projects, know His opinion about yourself and others and see life the way God sees it. Then, you will dream differently, think differently, have a sensitivity you never had before and enjoy the privilege of letting the Creator of Heaven and earth assist you in whatever you do. Accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour and get ready to be wired to God in a unique way. If you are wired to God in a unique way, there is no one and there shall never be anyone quite like you.

EIGHT DAYS OF BLOODY HELL ENDED!

TB Joshua Church Nigeria | tbjfansuk.wordpress.com

The Sunday service would not be incomplete without cases and testimonies that highlighted the might Power of God and the movement of the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name. Read on and be blessed:

EIGHT DAYS OF BLOODY HELL ENDED!
ROSEMARY IMMAShe sat in a chair at the Thursday Prayer Line with her head tilted backwards in a futile attempt to slow the blood that gushed from both her nose and mouth. The blood, in clots and rivulets, drained into a plastic vessel on her lap – a chilling and sickening spectre for one to watch. Mrs Rosemary Imma was rushed to The SCOAN close to death’s door and the only hope she reserved was in God.

The constant flow of blood was a result of a ruptured nasal artery. The bleeding had persisted for eight terrible days – eight days of constant pain, not a moment of sleep and unable to eat any solid food; eight days of horror. Hospitals had applied various scientific treatments in an attempt to plug the steady flow bit the bleeding seemed only to worsen.

“I began crying but I knew that would not solve my problem. The doctors had already told us to leave. I told my husband that he must rush me to The SCOAN,” she recounted her ordeal. Apparently, the doctors had given up hope of her survival and did not want her to die in their hands.

The couple arrived at The SCOAN late in the night, eventually coming to The SCOAN Thursday Prayer Line bathed in her own blood. Thank God, the same Jesus who healed the woman with the issue of blood is the same and works through His ministers. Prophet T.B. Joshua stretched his hand towards Mrs Imma and declared her healed. Her mouth and noses clotted with blood, she muffled a hearty ‘Amen’ and the bleeding stopped!

“My throat became dry as the bleeding had instantaneously ceased!” she said. Mrs Imma returned home and slept soundly for the first time in eight days. She awoke to re-affirm the permanence of her healing – no more bleeding through her nose or mouth! During this eight-day period, she had lost hope of the baby in her womb surviving as it was no more responding or kicking as blood was seeping out of her system. After the prayer on Thursday, she said, she felt the clear signs of life in her womb. What an awesome testimony!
