PROPHETIC REVELATION RECONCILES BROKEN MARRIAGE

Mrs Gloria Abhiwu from Ghana received a prophecy from Prophet T.B. Joshua regarding broken home in the family. At the prophet’s word, she broke down in tears. Confirming the word of prophecy, last week she had narrated that after marrying her husband in 2011, there had been no peace in the home. Her husband had confessed to her that he didn’t have any affection for her to the extent that he returned the wedding ring. After giving the word of prophecy, Prophet T.B. Joshua invited her husband, Dr Hilarious Abhiwu, a medical superintendent from Ghana and he attended The SCOAN to honour the prophet’s invitation. He explained that the prophecy was nothing but the truth which he had never confessed to anyone. He narrated that the marriage started on a wrong footing. Since the day they met each other, she kept on talking about marriage to the extent that her family was mounting pressure on him to marry their daughter. They attended marriage counselling due to his doubt in the marriage and she still had to convince him to tie the knot. Initially, he wanted to postpone the marriage but because of the pressure, he finally married her. Mr Abhiwu was speaking with bitterness that he had to abandon his education and economy because of the marriage, while his wife stayed with her parents for two years. Her mother put a lot of pressure on her daughter to get pregnant.
Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Prophet T.B. Joshua invited the mother of Mrs Abhiwu in order to settle the matter.

Today, the mother of Gloria, Mrs Theresa Agbovi having honoured the invitation of the man of God, Prophet T.B. Joshua, received instructions in righteousness from the man of God of how to allow the young marriage to grow as it was a marriage from Heaven. The man of God said, “We need to thank our mum for her support”. Praying with the young couple, Prophet T.B. Joshua reconciled them, in Jesus name promising to counsel them further for the success of their marriage. As husband and wife embraced themselves, the prophet prayed for them and they both fell under the anointing of God. Now delivered from the pain of the past, they are set to face whatever challenges their marriage will face. Whatever deep hurt was caused by either party, they chose to hold on to the words of Prophet T.B. Joshua, “Whether you are right or wrong, you have no right to hold on to an offence”.

Evagelist Ruth – YOUR SEAT IS STILL THERE

EVANGELIST RUTHEvangelist Ruth had earlier assured Christians of the constancy of their place in God in a message titled ‘YOUR SEAT IS STILL THERE’. Referring to a couple of biblical stories, with special focus on the story of ‘The Prodigal Son’, she observed that, irrespective of the flaws of a child of God, he or she still retains a place in the Father’s house. But that is made possible only through repentance and reconciliation. In other words, every true believer will always be accepted back and restored to his or her place of glory in God if only there is true remorse and repentance.

“When a Christian wrongs God, fellowship is broken but he does not lose his place as a son or daughter of God. No matter what you feel about yourself, no matter what you feel about God, your seat is still there and Jesus is always there to reconcile you”. January 3, 2016 ushered in the first Sunday Service of the year with joy as it assured worshippers of their place in God’s plan, irrespective of their human frailties.

FRACTURED BONES HEALED IN JESUS’ NAME

Maria Ogbu came to The SCOAN after she suffered an accident which fractured her tibia and fibula bones. This problem affected her as an officer and she had to move with the aid of crutches. Her husband was the one who was doing all the chores in the house. She was taken to the hospital where the doctors recommended that she undergo amputation. That prompted her to come to The SCOAN where she was privileged to be at the Prayer Line. The man of God, Prophet T.B. Joshua prayed for her and during the prayer, she felt the fractured bones coming together. Prophet T.B. Joshua then commanded her in the name of Jesus to walk and she began to walk. Now she testifies that she can do those things she could not do before and can go back to her job as an officer. For further confirmation, she showed the medical reports stating her health status before and after her healing. Mr John Ogbu, husband to Maria testified that her situation was really terrible. During this time, she could not do anything. He had to do everything for her and this began to affect his job. He glorified God for healing her after her visit to The SCOAN Prayer Line.

MAN’S JUDGEMENT – WEEK 7 DEVOTION

Man’s judgement is a judgement that is based only on what is seen, heard and on what the circumstances look like. This kind of judgement is limited and cannot understand God. When you base your judgement only on what is seen, heard and on what the circumstances look like, you have not looked deep enough to the heart. As a child of God, look deep enough to the heart by focusing on what God says about the situation at hand.

Instead of listening to what Jesus’ message was all about, the people from His hometown were calling Him a carpenter’s son. Jesus struggled His way out of a pit of questions. Those questions were; How did this man get such learning without having studied? ‘Are you not the son of Joseph?’ That is, ‘Are you not the same boy that we grew up together with?’

People of God! you can grow up with a boy who was a hooligan and you have been living upright; you may later see the boy become a man of honour and authority, by the grace of God. This is the mystery of grace: God takes unlikely people puts them into His palace for eternity. That is, Christ shows them that dominion was generally abused in this world. Can you see that broken things become useful in God’s hands?

You who complain of your miserable background, cheer up for there is hope for you. Jesus Christ, the son of the living God is our eternal Hope. In the midst of your misery, look unto Jesus, for your misery is the object of His mercy. By His grace and mercy you will cry no more, you will be oppressed no more, you will be disappointed no more, you will be sick no more and you will be poor no more. What amazing blessings these really are!…..Prophet TB Joshua.

PROFESSING AFFINITY TO CHRIST – WEEK 6 DEVOTION

A Christian is one whose life comes from Christ. Many today, accept the name of Jesus Christ but not the life of Jesus Christ. When I say, ‘The life of Jesus Christ’, I mean God’s kind of lifestyle which is a lifestyle based on positive faith: that is, positive thinking, positive talking and positive acting. However, we profess affinity to Christ according to the flesh, while we are unchanged in the heart and life. Many become Christians, born-again with self-effort. Self-effort is a wrong attitude toward sin and it leaves us with urge; urge to do the wrong things. It is pertinent to note that without the Holy Spirit destroying the root of sin in us, we are bound to be tormented by our desire to return to our bad habits. Psalms 66:18 says, “If I regard sin – iniquity, in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.” We are made in our heart to be like Jesus. True Christianity lies in the heart – in the purity of the heart. On the last day, we will be judged not by the colour of our skin but by the content of our character. James 1:22 reads, “But be doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving yourself.’’ Many people say, ‘I’m born again, I gave my life to Christ 25 years ago…’ This means you are a divine image bearer of God; you mirror Jesus. The challenge many Christians, believers, pastors and the rest are facing, is the problem of urge behind closed doors – urge to do many bad habits. Many Christians, Bible students, church people are studying the Word but have failed to act on or do the Word. The mind is renewed by studying the Word and acting upon it. One may study the Word for years; if he or she is not a doer, the mind cannot be renewed. Meditation in the Word is a visit to Him. When you meditate on God’s Word, you bring God’s power onto the scene.

EXPERIENCE GOD – WEEK 5 DEVETION

Jesus Christ is reachable; you are not far from God.
No state of being is as rewarding as living in tune with God! Everyone has a desire to experience God because He has set eternity in the hearts of men. Apostle Paul says in Philippians 3:7-11:
“But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith. I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.”
When you have a relationship with Jesus Christ you change and become a man/ woman who is directed by your heavenly Father and not by the influence from men or circumstances. If you want to experience God and be all God has called you to be, you have got to spend your time with Him and learn from Him at His feet.

SEEKING HEAVEN ON EARTH – WEEK 4 DEVOTION

Everyone is exposed to trouble because trouble does not require any invitation before it comes. But as a Christian, your trouble is not like others; it is for the glory of God. Trouble comes not because we have taken any wrong step but because we are in a complex and contradictory world. This world is not our home, we are just passing through. That you choose to serve the Lord in truth and faith does not mean that you will not encounter troubles or trials but the Lord promises to see

SEEKING HEAVEN ON EARTH

you through. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, God’s children are passing through this troubled world to a place prepared for them – a place without sorrow; this is not Heaven. I mean that we are here for a short season, there will be thorns in our flesh, there will be things poking us, there will be things disappointing us. If you are seeking to have Heaven here on earth, then you are thinking and working against what the Bible says in John 16:33, that in this world, you will have trouble. Take heart – as Christians, we have a building from God. We have a firm and well grounded expectation of future felicity.
