Daily Devotion – DO A LITTLE GOOD – By T.B. Joshua

If you read the about the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:30-36, you would realise that Jesus Christ has actually called us as Christians to respond to all human needs, for that is what love entails.

Jesus Christ values our little effort to honour Him when it is done in truth, humility and faith. No matter how small, how little, when you present it in humility, cheerfulness, Jesus honours it. Look at your contribution to others as an assignment from God. When you see whatever you are doing as an assignment from God, you cannot afford to fail God. You will always do the right thing. The Bible says that whatever you do to your neighbour or fail to do, that you do unto God. Every person God created is a solution to a problem. No matter your level in life, you are a solution to a problem. When you begin to see life in this light, you will always overcome, you will become successful.

Jesus Christ was bread to the hungry, a roadmap to the lost, water to the thirsty, a companion to the lonely. Whatever is your gift, that is what the Lord will use to bless others through you. What is your gift? No matter how small, you can still share with others who need your gift. Thousands want to change. They just don’t know how to go about it. Successful people are simply problem solvers. No matter your level in life, you are a solution to a problem. This means you are created for a purpose.

PRAYER: God, give me Your eyes to find those who need me and how I can identify with those who need me the most, in Jesus’ name.

Daily Devotion – HOME IS A HEART GOD DWELLS By Evangelist Angela

Evangelist Angela’s Message – HOME IS A HEART GOD DWELLS called on Christians to profess their Christianity from the heart. She urged them to imbibe the love of God that flows directly from within and not the hypocritical and deceptive type that has pervaded the world. She said, “Christianity lies in the heart. A man, Christian in profession yet not such in heart, deceives his own soul. This is the job satan wants you to do – deception. He wants you to forget God and focus on yourself. He wants you to forget all God has given you and focus on what you do not have. He wants you to forget where you are going and get lost in his distractions. Judas walked with the Roadmap but could not follow His directions. His heart could not find home.”

Evangelist Angela

Admonishing Christians to be wary of the fact that we live in an unbelieving world with so many unbelieving and doubting Thomases, she concluded by urging everyone to draw closer to God through their heart, stressing that it is only when we are connected to God in Spirit that we can overcome the antics of satan and his crowd of unbelievers who prowl around the world looking for hearts to contaminate: “When we break free from that unbelieving crowd in our heart, we too will begin to share in the promise of Joseph. Our enemies may separate us from friends, relatives and country on the outside but they cannot separate us from the presence of the Lord. They may rob us of liberty and confine us in a prison cell but they cannot shut us out of the throne of mercy and communion with God.”

Daily Devetion – BEYOND OFFENCE, Evangelist Annette

BEYOND OFFENCE, Evangelist Annette urged Christians all over the world to rise above the mundane strictures of holding on to offence. Citing the story of Joseph who was sold into slavery by his brothers yet did not hold a grudge against them even when he became Prime Minister of Egypt, she admonished all to embrace forgiveness and look up to God, beyond offence. “Beyond offence, there God is,” she submitted.

She described offence as a terrible tool used by satan to imprison God’s children. “Offence is a trap, an effective instrument used by satan to trap you, imprison you and make you a bond servant.” Concluding, she called on Christians to be on their guard and follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ who chose forgiveness even when He had the power to curse those who tormented and murdered Him on the cross for no offence of His own.

“To identify and acknowledge your weakness is victory itself. It is 50% of the victory; the remaining 50% – leave it for God!” – T.B. Joshua

Satan uses our weakness as a route to snatch the blessings we have received from God. Learn how to block the avenue satan is using to strike your spiritual life in this short sermon with T.B. Joshua titled, ‘Identify Your Weakness’

Words of Wisdom Evangelist Yinka

Those of you seated by the highway of life, worrying about tomorrow, I have good news for you. We serve a God who oftentimes brings good out of evil and promotes the design of His providence. Genesis 37 – God overruled the evil design of Joseph’s brothers in order to serve His purpose of making him an instrument for saving many people. It was God’s will for him to be sold into slavery.

Judges 11:1-12 Broken things become useful in the hands of God. What is your situation. Have you been rejected, disappointed or abandoned? Always remember the case of Jephthah. There is an unseen hand of God that controls the affairs of man. That unseen hand is the divine driver of our fortunes.

Romans 8:28. All things work together for the good for them that love God. Rejoice for no condition is permanent. God had purposely kept us in the dark concerning future events so that we could be alert watchful and prayerful.

Ephesians 1:1-11. I have obtained an inheritance today through His will. This is the mystery of His grace: God takes unlikely people and places them into His palace for eternity. So stop wallowing in self-pity and give thanks to God. God freely gives His grace to those who rely on His strength, on His Word.

To uncover the mystery behind your situation, learn to control your character if you cannot control your circumstances.

evangelist-christopherThe mood was gloriously ecstatic as the Word of God blended excellently with songs of praise and worship. The Evangelists demonstrated the power of God in the Morning Water medium as they ministered it to congregants, loosing chains of affliction and demonic manipulation. The outpouring of testimonies signalled the triumph of the children of God over the kingdom of darkness. The rebroadcast of the Peru Crusade with Prophet T.B. Joshua further proved that God is with the ministry. The mammoth crowd at the Monumental Stadium in Peru as well as the awe-inspiring miracles that took place, rekindled hope in the hopeless and brought salvation to those hungry and thirsty for righteousness through the great works of God.

One of the high points of The SCOAN Sunday service of September 25, 2016 was the delivery of the message by Evangelist Christopher, titled THE OBJECT OF MERCY. The message bordered on the inevitability of sin among men and the illimitable power of God to forgive. According to the evangelist, “Whether your sins are great or small, Jesus Christ has paid the price on the Cross of Calvary.” Speaking further, he assured Christians all over the world of God’s ability to transform their lives irrespective of their former sins. He cited the examples of Apostle Paul and Moses who had terrible pasts yet became great ambassadors of the Kingdom. “Moses was once a murderer but became a great deliverer. Saul who later became Paul was a state persecutor who murdered saints of God,” he said. In his conclusion, he assured Christians that there is hope for them in Christ Jesus, no matter their backgrounds.

mr-augustine-famous-iyabrade-family-2Augustine Famous and Kelvin Elabor had applied for scholarships to study Marine Engineering in the Philippines through the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).  After passing the requisite tests, they were faced with the hurdle of passing medical tests. They visited The SCOAN and received the Morning Water which they ministered to themselves before undergoing the various tests. At the end of it all, they were both granted scholarships and thereafter travelled to the Philippines.

While in the Philippines, two natural disasters – an earthquake and a typhoon wreaked havoc on some sections of the nation close to where the two brothers were residing. However, through the continued ministration of the Morning Water, Augustine and Kelvin were kept safe under God’s protection. Augustine and Kelvin ensured that they ministered the Morning Water anytime they were about to sit for their examinations. At the end of their studies, spanning three years, they qualified as Marine Engineers with multiple certifications.

During their testimony, the cadets thanked God for granting them success in their course of study. “Keep to your dreams and put God first,” he advised people all over the world, especially fellow cadets.

mrs-sylvia-ogidiFor seven years, Mrs Silvia Ogidi was ravaged by diabetes. The illness made her to become very weak. She could hardly walk a far distance before she would start sweating profusely. She continued to battle with the illness until her business collapsed. Due to the severity of her condition, doctors told her children to keep a special watch over her. By this time, all starchy foods became banned in her feeding regimes. However, in spite of all the medical manoeuvres aimed at regulating her very high blood sugar level, there was no improvement, at all.

While she was receiving medical attention, she kept confessing that she would not die. According to her, the God of Prophet T.B. Joshua would heal her. After those confessions, she visited The SCOAN and received the Morning Water which she ministered. She would also minister it into her bathing water. She soon noticed that all those symptoms of diabetes had left her. In order to be sure, she visited her doctors. After undergoing some tests, she was told that her blood sugar level was back to its normal state. She was declared diabetes-free to the glory of God.

Thanking God for her healing, Mrs Ogidi told congregants that she now eats all those starchy foods that were hitherto banned in her feeding regimes. She advised people all over the world to have absolute trust in God and believe in Him.

insp-atodo-momoh-familyMr Momoh, an Inspector with the Marine arm of the Nigerian Police, was on a routine patrol of the waterways when the boat conveying him and other officers capsized, emptying all its occupants into the river. As a prayerful Christian, Mr Momoh would always minister the Morning Water whenever he wanted to leave for work and during one of his visits to The SCOAN, he had received the Faith Bracelet and Morning Sticker from the man of God. Incidentally, on the day of that unfortunate occurrence, he had both the Morning Water, Morning Sticker and Faith Bracelet in his pocket while in the belly of the river. For 45 minutes, professional rescue divers combed the river bed in search of him without success and at a point, presumed he was dead.

While all hope seemed lost for the searchers, a strange power pushed Mr Momoh out of the deep to the surface of the water and to the delight of rescuers and sympathisers who had formed a gathering at the scene of the incident. According to Mr Momoh, how he managed to survive under the water for 45 minutes without any supply of oxygen is still a mystery to all who witnessed the incident.

Mrs Momoh who accompanied her husband, also thanked God for saving his life. She told congregants that if not for God’s divine intervention, her husband would be dead by now. The couple alongside their children were full of joy and adoration for the great thing God did in their lives, as they testified last Sunday service. They left the following advice for people all over the world: “Always believe in God and have trust in Him because without Him, we are nothing.”

miss-anyama-henrietta-ebere-1When she was nine years-old, she had a dream in which she was crowned a king in the river and was given a woman to marry as wife. Even though the innocence of childhood blurred her understanding of that dream, Miss Genevieve would later realise that there was something definitely amiss with her spiritual life. She grew up having many female friends while severing every relationship she had with her male friends, as she had been possessed with the spirit of woman. Her feelings for fellow women grew stronger with time.

While in the university in India, she had little time for her studies. She spent most of her time pursuing her womanish fancies. It later dawned on her that her academic performance was dwindling as she would spend hours online chatting with women who had the same spirit as her. In her third year, she dated a lady she had met online.

Through her mother’s devotion to the things of God, Genevieve’s deliverance would soon come to pass. In company of her younger sister who was also studying in India, Genevieve found herself at the Prayer Line of The SCOAN at the instance of their mother who knew that something was wrong with her daughters. As Genevieve would later reveal, her wayward life as an elder sister created the enabling environment for her younger sister, Henrietta, to team up with bad friends and started smoking and drinking. Though the two sisters were reluctant to come to The SCOAN, their mother had her way. As Prophet T.B. Joshua prayed for them, the Spirit of God took over their lives from the grip of the demons tormenting them and they were set free.

After their deliverance, Genevieve and Henrietta came back to The SCOAN to give glory to God for their new found freedom and academic success. While Genevieve went on to graduate with a First Class honours in Nursing Science, Henrietta also got her degree in Nursing Science. Both sisters are now new creations. To God be the Glory!

Joy Comes in the Morning

There is reason to be sad, but there is a greater reason not to be. Why? Because the JOY of the Lord is our STRENGTH, the bible says in James 1:2-3, “Count it all joy, my brethren, when you meet various trials, for you know that the testing of your Faith produces steadfastness”. God sometime uses trials to test our faith when preparing us for a greater glory. That is why true believers always put their trust in God no matter the situation. That is, in good time and hard times, Glory to God! In sorrow and happiness, Glory to God! In rejection and acceptances, Glory to God!!

Are we now going to slur God because a building collapsed? No and God forbid, God allow whatever He wants, He is a mysterious God and does as He wishes. Isaiah 55:8-9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

We may not understand why God allow some certain things to happen; God may allow us go through certain life challenges for a reason He knows best. That’s why true believers don’t blaspheme when bad things happen to others instead, they pray for them and show them love; Love is the greatest!

Definitely, the enemies will always be after our mistakes to attack us and our foes will always be after our bad news to speak out the evil in their mind. But all we have to say is, trouble may endure for a night, but Joy comes in the Morning.

No matter how ugly our present circumstances may look like, God’s promise will surely come to pass. in Jeremiah 29:11 the word of God says “for I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”. Hallelujah…., this means our future and destiny is secured in Christ Jesus, what else have we to say-Glory to God in the highest!!! No matter what the situation may look like, that heavenly Joy the world cannot give will always remain in our hearth.

EVANGELIST RUTHEvangelist Ruth had earlier assured Christians of the constancy of their place in God in a message titled ‘YOUR SEAT IS STILL THERE’. Referring to a couple of biblical stories, with special focus on the story of ‘The Prodigal Son’, she observed that, irrespective of the flaws of a child of God, he or she still retains a place in the Father’s house. But that is made possible only through repentance and reconciliation. In other words, every true believer will always be accepted back and restored to his or her place of glory in God if only there is true remorse and repentance.

“When a Christian wrongs God, fellowship is broken but he does not lose his place as a son or daughter of God. No matter what you feel about yourself, no matter what you feel about God, your seat is still there and Jesus is always there to reconcile you”. January 3, 2016 ushered in the first Sunday Service of the year with joy as it assured worshippers of their place in God’s plan, irrespective of their human frailties.

“Your Dream And Your Goal” By TB Joshua – SCOAN 26-10-2014

“The question – what is your goal, what is your dream in life? Are you led by someone else’s dream, someone else’s goal?” “If you believe in what you are doing, why should disappointment separate you from it? If you believe in your marriage, why should crisis lead to divorce? If you believe in your business, why should failure lead you to abandon it?”

Towards the end of his sermon he said:-

Prophet TB Joshua has said “there is a cloud hanging“ over his nation. According to him, there is a looming danger waiting to happen in Africa’s most populous nation. In a live sermon, Sunday, 26th October, 2014 the TB Joshua told his congregation at the Synagogue Church of All Nations in Nigeria, that it will be difficult to avert the impending crisis since the country appears to be “frustrating” the “Men of God” who can pray to change the surge. “For the past three weeks, I have remained quiet but don’t forget what I said; there is a cloud on Nigeria, because of that, I abandon my journey to Colombia”. “I want to see what will happen, the cloud is still there, it is not gone, it doesn’t look good for this country”, ‘Man of God’ as he is popularly called, told the church. CLOUD MEANS TROUBLE

Obstructing Our Prayer

The Almighty God again demonstrated His everlasting faithfulness to His children on Sunday when His grace manifested with overwhelming dominance at the SCOAN’s Sunday Service. For visitors who had come from all over the world to worship at the church’s headquarters in Lagos – Nigeria, it was an awesome experience as they encountered the power of the Holy Spirit in action. Those who came with afflictions were delivered while those who had sicknesses were prayed for and healed in the name of Jesus Christ. What started with a Prayer Line where God used the faculties of the wise men to set His people free. Prophet T.B. Joshua ministered prayer, prophecy and healing to the congregants in Jesus’ name. He walked among the congregation and, by the power of the Holy Spirit, revealed hidden truths that were root to individuals’ and nations’ problems. The man of God dwelled on the prophetic message he ministered to the congregation the previous week about Christianity not being ‘the work we do but the relationship we maintain and the atmosphere produced by that relationship.’ He subtitled his message: HINDRANCE TO PRAYER. He said the truthfulness to being a genuine born-again Christian begs question when the persons confessing their Christianity still nurse urges of their former life.Image

Prophet T.B. Joshua

“You used to be a drunkard or a smoker before or any of those habits but you have become a Christian. You have stopped it but the urge for it is still there. Are you really born again by God’s standard? We know what urge means; tormenting, irritating, very painful, discomforting – distressful. You can regard it as an affliction. In this case, Only God can know if you are not born again. The fact that people do not see you again in your former bad attitude, orientation, character and disposition does not mean you are truly born again. Only God Almighty knows the heart of man,” said the man of God, drawing people’s attention to Matthew 5:8 – “…Blessed are those pure in heart for they shall see God”.

He went on: “Blessed are those who are pure in heart; they shall pray and their prayer shall be answered. Only faith pleases Him. But what is faith? Faith is of man’s heart. Faith in God is of man’s heart not of man’s mind or flesh. Faith must be confessed and faith must be worked out in action.”

Wise Man Harry also delivered an inspiring message on the altar of The SCOAN titled, The New Life. The proof text was Romans 6:3-8. “When we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour, we were baptised into Christ, we died when He died and therefore, sin’s power over our lives has been broken.

Wise Man Harry

Salvation is to be set free from sin and its penalties. Regaining your freedom, health, blessing is not the only thing, you also need to cast aside your old self, your self-righteousness and your old nature in order to embrace Jesus Christ.”

The service which was aired live on the church’s channel, Emmanuel TV, was not without amazing testimonies over God’s power in the lives of His people through various mediums of Anointing Water, Anointing Sticker and Emmanuel TV, among others. We bring you a selected few and, as you read, believe that the next testimony shall be yours. Amen!

Every week at The SCOAN provides another opportunity to thank God for His enduring mercy in the lives of His people. The Saturday and Sunday Services at The SCOAN on 20th and 21st of April were no exception. Filled with life-changing testimonies, powerful deliverance sessions, miraculous healing, pinpoint prophecies and inspiring messages, there are no natural words to describe it except to say, “Thank You, Jesus!”

In his message on Sunday titled, ‘God’s Spirit’, Prophet T.B. Joshua said, “The challenges before us cannot be withstood without God’s Spirit. If you are truly born again with power, it was the Holy Spirit that convicted you of sin and drew you into a relationship with Jesus.”

After directing the congregation to the Book of Luke 24:49, he explained,“Jesus knew His followers could not fulfill the commission He had given them to take the Gospel to all nations until they were immersed, clothed with power that the Holy Spirit would bring.” He then added, “God’s purpose of sending the Holy Spirit was to empower Jesus’ followers. If you are not tarrying until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power, you are carrying out a dangerous mission.”

He concluded by saying, “When you act on the Word of God, you are acting in unison with God.  You and God are lifting the load together, walking together, facing persecution and trials together. His strength and ability becomes yours.”

On Sunday, Wise Man Racine preached an enlightening message about the need to run a straight race in life through God’s good grace. He explained, “The roadmap to your future success is not a bed of roses. Trouble and pain can stop the man without faith. But for a man of faith, the more sensibly he feels the pain, the better improved he becomes in his relationship with God.”

Talking about the temptations that can distract one from running the straight trace, he said, “Fleshly desires and spiritual desires are two different opposing masters. A focus on materialism can divert our devotion from God Almighty to the god of wealth.” He reminded the congregation on the importance of staying determined in life, irrespective of the situation they may be facing. “If God gives you a vision and it is challenged by men, do not reduce your vision, stay in the will of God. Every day you must stay true to your purpose in life despite snow and rain.”Wise Man Racine concluded his message by saying, “A resolve to do whatever proper thing it takes separates the weak from the strong… Nothing can keep you on the course like a deep love for Christ.”

By God’s grace, both the Saturday and Sunday services were filled with powerful testimonies from people who had received a life-changing touch from Jesus Christ.
