Founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN),Temitope Joshua was reported to have donated nine patrol cars to the Ondo State Police Command to tackle robbery in the state.
Prophet Joshua represented by Mayowa Oluwayomi reportedly sympathised with the command and the family of those that lost their lives during a recent robbery attack at Ikare Akoko area of Ondo state.
Reports say a gang of armed robbers had stormed the community, killing at least 21 people, including eight policemen, one undergraduate, two secondary school pupils and five bankers.
The popular televangelist had put the cost of the patrol vehicles at N215 million during a brief ceremony at the headquarters of the Ondo Police Command where he handed them over to beneficiary heads of formations, said the gesture was aimed at reducing crime rates in Akoko Area of the state.
Mr Mayowa speaking on behalf of the popular prophet said the people of the area cried to God for help which prompted him as a son of the soil and man of God to donate the vehicles and renovated the damaged Police Station during the attack to further encourage the men of the command.
Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers of the area, theOlubaka of Oka Land, Adebori Adeleye thanked him for the kind gesture and urged the prominent sons and daughter of the area to emulate Pastor T.B Joshua.
Oba Adeleye noted that apart from the unfortunate robbery incident that occurred recently in the area, Ondo State had been relatively peaceful since assumption of office the present Police boss in the State.
Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the command, the Police Commissioner, Isaac Eke appreciated him for the provision and urged the prominent sons and daughters of the state to rally round the command so as to stamp out crime and criminality across the state.
Eke stated that the gesture would again boost their morale in the command to further discharge their duty effectively.
He said “if this kind gesture is coming now from religions background, it is a sign of good thing to come and at the same time a challenge to others to emulate him”.
He, therefore, promised on behalf of the command, that the vehicles and the money that was given as a back up would be used to fight crime in the area.
