ATTRACT GOD’S ATTENTION – Week 18 Devotion

Matthew 14:28-29 – “ ‘Lord, if it’s you’, Peter replied, ‘tell me to come to you on the water.’ ‘Come,’ he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.”

In this passage, we learn how Peter, by faith, did what no one had ever done before, simply by taking Jesus Christ at His every Word. In our day and generation, many times we find ourselves in a similar situation as Peter. We find ourselves in a comfort zone, never ready to step out in faith in order to reach Jesus Christ. Remember the woman with the issue of blood; her desperate circumstances triggered desperate faith. She had run out of rope, it was time for her to grab onto faith. Peter knew that if God was supporting his position, impossibilities would become possible. He felt that it was time for him to do something different to change his life from failure to success. Jesus accepts anyone who comes to Him in faith, even those who previously rejected Him.

Peter decided that if he wanted a different result in his life, he had to do something no one had ever done before; he did what seemed crazy to the ordinary mind. He decided to show his excitement in order to attract God’s attention in his situation. In whatever situation you find yourself in today, Jesus Christ is waiting for you to take a step of faith in order to attract His attention in your life. When you attract God’s attention in your life, all things become possible.

Prayer: God, give me the grace to do all things today to be seen by You, not to be seen by men, in Jesus’ mighty name!

HELP IS THE BEST INVESTMENT – Week 17 Devotion

The Bible says there are only three things on this earth that will last – faith, hope and love. The greatest is love (1 Corinthians 13:13). 1 John 4:16 says that Jesus is love. He who abides in love abides in God and God in Him. When you abide in love, you will not listen to the cry of others but you will listen for their cry because love looks around to see who is in need. That is why we will begin to succeed with our lives when the hurt and problems of others matter to us. I mean, we must begin to live a life of investment and not expenditure because the best investment is help. So, when you give, you are planting seeds that will be multiplied back to you. When the pain of others becomes your pain, you will begin to succeed with your life. Love never gives up. It puts up with everything. Love cares more for others than for self. Love is not always ‘me first’. Love does not strut. Love does not want what it does not have. Love is positive – it does not want anything negative. Love is good. That is why love is the greatest.

THROW OFF EVERYTHING THAT HINDERS Week 16 Devotion

Hebrews 12:1 – “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us…”
Do you want to run your race with God but there are things that are hindering your progress or forward movement? Throw it off!!! Ask Blind Bartimaeus in the book of Mark 10:46-52 and he will tell you that throwing off every hindrance and embracing Jesus Christ was the best thing he ever did in life. He cast aside his old self, sinful nature and self-righteousness and embraced Jesus Christ; he was transformed from Blind Bartimaeus to Bartimaeus with perfect vision. He discovered his real value – the real him, the prosperous him, the successful him, the healthy him; the way that God saw him. Sin or bad habits is the greatest hindrance to a person’s spiritual progress. Unless you conquer your hindrance, you cannot make any progress in life. To conquer your hindrance, you must admit that you are guilty, acknowledge your sin and trust in Christ’s sacrifice. By doing this, it will make you clean and whole within. Make a heart decision and throw off every hindrance today and live in the promise of victory as you run with perseverance the race marked out for you.
Prayer Point: Lord, give me the grace to throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles in Jesus’ name.

DON’T TELL GOD WHEN AND HOW TO BLESS YOU – Week 15 Devotion

As a child of God, the blessings of God in your life are meant to stand the test of time, no matter what happens and no matter comes. The way people respond to those unpleasant situations we often find ourselves in clearly indicate that people try to figure God out with their natural minds. Consequently, they begin to think that they can instruct God in the way He should go when they fast and pray without a thorough reformation of heart and life. These are the reasons why they complain, thinking that God has not been kind to them. Little do they know that grace in the soul is a new life in the soul. They fail to know that the work of healing, deliverance, salvation and all of God’s blessings are not brought to pass by anything done by us. God has ordered all that the whole should appear to be of grace (1 Corinthians 1:18-31).

PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, give me the grace to depend on You for my needs. In Jesus’ name!
