In 2008, Mr Lucky Susu was at work in the marketplace at Mile 12 in Lagos. He was working as a loading boy, assisting women to carry their goods after they purchased it in the market. One day, he saw a woman in a pool of blood. A vehicle had run her down and she was about to die. Having little money with him, he felt compassion for the woman and used his money to take the woman to the hospital. Arriving at the hospital, the woman died and he was arrested for her murder.

He spent 5 years, 6 months and eleven days in prison. Last week, a man walked into the prison and discovered Mr Lucky Susu. He walked up to Mr Lucky and asked him what brought him to prison. After hearing his pathetic story, the man showed Mr Lucky a bracelet he was wearing. It happened to be a Faith Bracelet given to him by Prophet T.B. Joshua from The SCOAN. Only 15 of the bracelets had been given by the Prophet. The man told him to hold the hand wearing the Faith Bracelet and pray with him. After the prayer, the man told him to continue to have faith in God and left the prison.
Later that night, Mr Lucky dreamt and saw Prophet T.B. Joshua telling him that he would be set free. Eleven days later, Mr Lucky heard his name being called at the prison gate. Thinking he was being called for execution, he went to hide in the toilet. A few minutes later, they found him and told him that he had been cleared of the crime and was being released from prison after 5 long years!

Leaving the prison with only the clothes on his back, he made his way straight to The SCOAN to thank God for his miraculous release. Reaching the church, he was not able to enter because of the crowd so he sat outside the gate crying. A man saw him crying and asked him what had happened. The man took him to the restroom, bought him soap to bathe, bought new clothes for him, gave him money and brought him inside the church.

As Mr Lucky narrated his story, Prophet T.B. Joshua asked him to locate the man who helped him in the morning. Mr Lucky went outside and called Mr Chuks, one of the heads of security for The SCOAN.

When he was asked by Prophet T.B. Joshua why he acted in such a manner, he said that we needed to follow the footsteps of Prophet T.B. Joshua.

A woman in the congregation suddenly rushed out to say that she knows Mr Lucky from the market at Mile 12. She used to see him all the time pushing wheelbarrows in the market for the shoppers but had not seen him for several years and thought he had moved to a different market. She said, with tears, that she never knew that he had been put in prison.

Prophet T.B. Joshua, proud of the bold step of kindness demonstrated by the security man, stated that Five Million Naira would be given to Mr Chuks to continue to assist others as he has done today, saying he knows this is not the first time the security had been assisting others in such a Godly way. Today, he will see the dividends of doing good. He admonished all to continue doing good until you see light at the end of the tunnel.

Prophet T.B. Joshua told Mr Lucky that what he passed through was as it should be by divine will. That prison was not to kill him or impair him but to improve him and prepare him for what lay ahead. Read about the apostles in the Bible. They saw darkness; they lived darkness. That was why they were able to maintain the good life. if you have not seen darkness, lived darkness, experienced darkness, when light finally comes, you may not be able to maintain it. Experience is the best teacher.

In fact, what can we say; if God is with us, even in the darkest tunnel, He shows Himself Mighty. Satan and his cohorts will use every tactics to stop people doing good and helping those in need/danger BUT our God is greater and wiser than all his schemes. Good people are still all around this world and God will always send them a helper too in time of need. “Do not be weary of doing good”, be encouraged people of God. Thank you Lord for this story and the rewards in Jesus Name, Amen.
