We will right now go beyond the confines of the regular prophecy

TB Joshua- the synagogue of all nations

confirmations relayed on Emmanuel TV, to confirm quite an unnoticed and unusual prophecy. It is an obvious fact that the SCOAN withdraws from confirming prophetic messages of this nature, still that doesn’t mean they are any less worthy of the mention and attention given to the earth shaking events which occur in fulfillment of TB Joshua’s prophetic messages (in our opinion). And before we are prophetically ushered by TB Joshua into the long list of future events to occur in the year 2013 as is usual of him, we deem it necessary to reflect on the fulfillment of a prophecy made rather explicitly as the doors of time opened to the year 2012.

Those who entered into the outgoing year (2012) with a glimpse into its future events from TB Joshua’s prophetic messages will recall Him explicitly declaring the year one of comeback, further stating that Ministers of the Gospel and worshippers who worships God in a defective way would face greater challenges in the year. The prophecy was as brief as it was exact, below is the video;

Looking intently into his prophetic words he was specifically referring to acclaimed ministers when he said; “we often say the spirit of God says this; the spirit of God says that, whereas the spirit of God is not talking to you” he here emphasizes how acclaimed spokesmen of God prophesy the imaginations of their own minds and not the communiqué of God’s Holy Spirit.

He further states that such worship and worshippers would face CHALLENGES in the year. Take note of the word in quote; “CHALLENGES”.

Following this precise prophetic utterance, and unarguably true to his prophetic foresight an unprecedented wave ofCHALLENGES blew across the circle of mega ministers of the Gospel around the world, and especially those who were rooted in Nigeria’s religiously rich soil. We herewith present the GREATER CHALLENGES faced by a selected few ministers (truth is the list was endless) all in the year 2012 as prophesied by TB Joshua.

  • A HOT SLAP landed on the cheek of a teenager to facilitate an exorcism years ago RESURFACED in a video to land the minister in a 2 Billion Naira Lawsuit.
  • Oyedepo won the lawsuit after which the case was forwarded to the Court of appeal where it still stands pending.

  • Okotie’s Four year Marriage with his wife Stephanie suffered a wrecking Divorce in the year 2012
  • After vehemently declaring that The LORD said he would be president in 2003 and 2007, finally saying his time had come in 2011, The acclaimed Reverend Okotie scored ZERO PERCENT in the presidential polls which later led to his party FRESH Democratic Party being disbanded the year 2012 for failing to get even up to one percent vote in any state in Nigeria.
  • Okotie was dragged to court in the year 2012 by an instrumentalist in His Church for ill-treatment.
  • Lady confessed to having performed three abortions for reverend okotie and currently has a child for him which church members rumored bore uncanny resemblance to the reverend.

  • In the year 2012, pastor Matthew Ashimolowo Battled with a SERIOUS ILLNESS an excerpt reads;

Those in the know claimed that the televangelist is battling an ailment which nobody can define particularly, though some people in his fold say it is diabetes. According to one of the church members, the pastor, for some time had been elusive, with nobody except his close aides and top church members…Those close to the church claimed that many members didn’t know the type of ailment Ashimolowo is suffering from because it was shrouded in topmost secrecy. But further probing revealed that the man is allegedly suffering from diabetes. Click for the full story.

  • In the same year 2012, Pastor Ashimolowo was also dragged to court for allegedly stealing 65 Acres of Land. The news article described him as being “embroiled in a new conflict” an excerpt from the report reads: “He (Pastor Ashimolowo) has been dragged before Justice Akinyemi of Abeokuta High Court back home, for allegedly stealing 65 acres of land belonging to Taiwo Ijaosan and Olosunde families”. many other ministers faced serious challenges in the year 2012 as prophesied by TB Joshua, this is just a short list as time would permit us here, other examples include (click on the links below)

…and many others.

If only they had returned in humility, and COMEBACK to worship God in Spirit and truth, perhaps they would have saved themselves these troubles that have tarnished their hard earned reputations. but it isn’t uncommon of them to pay deaf ear’s when God Speaks. whatever the case, In a few hours from now, TB Joshua would be prophetically ushering His people into the year 2013, and as a matter of fact we can’t wait to hear what the incoming year holds for His people and the world at large. One thing is sure, these are troubled times, but we know His people would be kept in the incoming year from the malice of the power of darkness.

Are spiritual advisers necessary?

It has been repeatedly established that prophets are people with special gifts of vision; people who are endowed by God to know the unusual, to discover the hidden, and to redirect men’s actions in consonance with the demands of the Holy Spirit. The gift of prophecy is a special one from God, and only very few are actually blessed by God with such powers. This is not to say there are many others claiming to be prophets but whose sources of power are questionable (and thousands of such are found in many countries of the world). These are people with counterfeit powers (photocopied powers) who try to do and achieve what true men of God are doing.

Prophets are known for the truth of their prophecies – the believability, timeliness, punctuality and permanence of same. Though satanic agents often try to out-do true men of God in making prophetic proclamations, these true men of God often win the day as seen with prophets Micaiah and Elijah, in their days, even when the leaders and the led did not necessarily believe in them.

Every age needs a true prophet. Every period in human history has its peculiar character. Today, the world over, are different trials which people and nations face – political, economic, and cultural and traditional. These challenges make life impossible; poverty and want rule people’s lives; ruler-ship is topsy-turvy; the land is poor and unproductive; the leaders are much used to greed, graft and corruption. Because of these factors, horror, earthquakes, moral disequilibrium, accidents and sheer deaths are forced on people, and dangerously empowered by occultism. There is much uncertainty, hopelessness and helplessness. Life is so tragic in orientation. Kidnapping, rape, drug-addiction, murder and ritualism have destroyed the foundation of many homes. People live in fear; their gifts are buried in the sand of meaningless commitments. People also lack the fear of God because satanism has swollen the ranks of unbelievers.

To avoid many evils which plague the world, it is important for people to listen to the tested prophets, which is why they should know the difference, which exists among the prophets. According to Prophet Joshua, there are two types of prophets. The first are the “General Prophets”. These have the ability to communicate the saving will of God. They teach because they have general knowledge of the Bible. They are aware of things both announced and known; they are general practitioners who have mastery of understanding of the bible chapters from Genesis to Revelation.

The second group of prophets are those who “receive direct and specific message from God and about man”. These people have the ability to predict and foretell the future, and can tell what the situation is, now. Prophet Joshua says that such spies on God’s plans, and reveals same to the world to know of some hidden truths which could serve their purpose.

Both groups are not necessarily antagonistic to one another, for they both belong to God. However, people do not understand the prophetic ministry; they little know the role of prophets in society. Equally, people are better used to pastors, some of whom are only obviously self-called. People are used to pastors who pray for them and recommend moments of fasting, even when such pastors themselves are very much in need of deliverance. Quite a lot of people had suffered in the hands of less-trained and less-gifted ‘men of God’.

The mistake most people make is to the effect that when they need the doctor, they go to the farmer, and vice versa. When they need the accountant, they move toward the farmer, and in the process, their problems remain unchallenged. Specialization, which is highly treasured by the Holy Spirit, is often neglected by people. They see every pastor as real, sensitive and prayerful, even when satan has won the souls of such people for himself.

Prophet T.B. Joshua had, for instance, prophesied in February 2012 to the effect that there was going to be an airplane crash in Nigeria, and that the people should pray with him to avert the looming danger.  Characteristically, nobody gave him an ear. In early June, 2012, there was a Dana plane crash on a Sunday at the Iju-Ishaga area of Lagos State, killing some 160 people. While some people had kept writing through social media to the effect that it was because the voice of a true prophet was disregarded, others felt otherwise. But what is particularly true is that such was not the first time Prophet Joshua had made similar prophecies which occurred, yet the unbelieving have remained unyielding that he is a true man of God. His prophecies within 2012 alone had come to pass, as well as hundreds of other prophecies made in the years past, yet some people keep expressing fears that Joshua, the Man in the Synagogue, is ever in company of satan!

Obviously, one of the challenges of modern times is disbelief in prophets and prophetic statements. We remember that in the church, that Sunday when the Dana air plane was to occur, Joshua was quite uncomfortable in service; he was busy checking his watch as if to leave the place at about 12.00 pm. He later told the congregation that he tried as a “prophet to see that the situation was rescued” through prayers, but he was rather lonely! The same was true of the previous prophecies he made; people never ever bothered with the implications and relevance of joint prayers. Some people later turned to be his adversaries, calling him a prophet of doom for not warding off the bad repercussions! But he had prophesied on governments, functionaries in government, lives of artistes and other professionals, etc. He has never hidden the truths revealed to him by God, yet he is disbelieved; he is even called reckless names.

Now, why should there be spiritual advisers to governments, corporations, private establishments? The answer should be obvious to strong believers: God should be involved in every major decision taken! This means, the God factor cannot be pushed aside in all business transactions, governmental programmes and community projects. Spiritual advisers are prayer warriors and visionaries to whom God reveals His secrets and plans. What is hidden from the ordinary eye cannot be hidden from true men of God. True prophets will tell people God’s mind on every issue. Owners of airplanes, for instance, will need prophets to let them know of dangers in the air, and how to ward off same. There are available calamities, even when God does not say Christians are free from trials. Prophets are endowed with visionary powers to know the unknown; they are allowed to spy into God’s plans and schemes. Many has wondered that if Nigeria knew that T.B Joshua is a prophet, why they should not agree with him.

A spiritual adviser is the mouthpiece of God. A prophet answers someone with the words of the Holy Ghost; the Holy Ghost is true. No wonder, Prophet Joshua says that every time, we should talk scriptures in any situation (whether good or bad). A spiritual adviser is needed to guide people’s moves and strategies in performance; provide spiritual illumination and enlightenment when most needed, and ensure that common human mistakes are avoided in life. He prays and ensures stability, confidence, security, and progress of those concerned. For example, the fact that most national leaders neglect spiritual advisers is responsible for their wishy-washy policies, programmes and commitments. Unnecessary conflicts are avoided and credible appointments go to the rightful people. Leadership in most communities of the world would have been enriched spiritually only if spiritual advisers have been reckoned with. Interestingly, T.B. Joshua is known to have a lot of leaders, business gurus, politicians, professionals, etc from all over the world who see him as a spiritual adviser, and for whom he prays and delivers God’s messages. The prophet has easy facility in the Word (which is an integral part of him) and he talks Scripture in every situation. Moreover, his voice is one of confidence; he said, “If you know where you belong, you will talk like a victor”. The miracles performed by God through him are engineered to help people’s faith and make them stronger than they are. It takes the voice of an authentic prophet to correct mistakes in families, jobs, relationships and religious life. For instance, many people were called witches and wizards in the past, only for them to reclaim their true identities in The SCOAN, though they confessed what they were not. The prophet encourages people to move closer to God instead of accusing people by their confessions. Thousands had also been delivered from the grip of evil forces which made them mad; eat anthill soil and chalk and paper; misbehave to others and commit suicide. Spiritual advisers are certainly needed at domestic, national and international scenes.

‘Why I Didn’t Attend College’ – TB Joshua

Another enlightening interview with Prophet TB Joshua, where he talks more on his early life and education, as well as his passion for compassion…

Looking at the growth of your church across the world today, would you say you ever thought that you could take evangelism to this level when you started Synagogue’s ministry?
Since it is a vision from God – a vision from God always materialises. You may not understand how it happens. There is always a driving force which no one can resist. When that vision comes, which is God’s purpose, and when that purpose manifests in our lives, it changes our actions and our location. Those who have vision concentrate on their aims and their goal.

"I have no life of my own. The only life I have is for Christ."

But in between your vision and the purpose of God, kindly tell us how you were able to weather the storm in those times when your church was facing series of criticisms from some sections of the Christian fold?
The vision is from God, like I told you. He is the one that plans the future. That is how we know people of God.

Are you telling us that you don’t feel it, particularly when some prominent clergymen were kicking against you and your church? What informed your calmness and your refusal to reply your critics?
Well, in the book of Psalm 91, when you continue reading from verse 15, it says, “I would see you through.” That does not mean you would not encounter trials, like persecution – but God promised to see you through. Therefore, anything that is close to Jesus receives attack, even if it is a pen.

Okay, can you tell us about yourself. Who is Prophet TB Joshua?
(Laughs) The man TB Joshua is a man like you. If there is any difference, it is the grace of God and that grace is not worked for. The word ‘grace’ means after we must have done everything humanly possible, we must leave the issue with God. That is grace.

Several great men of God like you have told the stories of their divine calling. Can you share yours with us?
I have told you I am a man, just like you. Except for the grace of God, I would be nobody – and that grace is the opposite of merit – human labour, education or human wisdom. Your papers are marked when you go to school, but you can’t mark the character. In the case of God, after you must have done everything humanly possible, you have to leave it for God. You have no choice than to leave the issue for God to mark it. That is grace. So, let no man boast.

Remember, I asked about the story of your calling…
I think I have answered that TB Joshua is just a man like you. If there is any difference, it is just the grace, and that grace, one should not boast of it.

Your church has been dolling out millions of naira to the aged, widows and several less privileged people in the society. What is the motivation behind this?
The Bible says ‘Watch and pray’. When the Bible says ‘watch’ – this is where charity comes in. So, the acts of charity and righteousness by faith in Christ Jesus go together.

The Synagogue Church Of All Nations has been able to break the barrier of colour across the world by bringing white and black people together. How did you do it?
It is Christ. Don’t say ‘Synagogue’ please – the church is all about Jesus. Synagogue is just a name. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. What Jesus gave us is not limited to certain areas. The Bible says, if you can believe, all things are possible. The capacity in our Lord Jesus Christ is not restricted by time and distance.

If you say everything is all about Jesus, you have been able to perform several unprecedented miracles and set up committees that reconciled sworn enemies in Liberia, particularly Samuel Doe’s family. Does that mean Jesus loves only Prophet TB Joshua to have been able to do all these?
It is not man’s business at all. The way and manner Jesus executes His plans in our lives differs. Some prophets use their talents for their immediate localities while others are endowed to move round the globe. Don’t also forget that some also operate within their nations. The book of Corinthians says some were given different gifts like prophecy, deliverance power, healing etc. – while some have all. It is just by His grace and no one should boast.

From the way you preach and teach, you sound as if you were a lecturer before you took up a pastoral job. What is your academic background?
(Laughs) Lecturer? No. Well, I have a primary school certificate. That is all. That is where I stopped. Whatever you see me doing now, may be like an enlightened person, it is by the grace of God.

You mean you never attended secondary school or university?
Eh! University? That is too much. I tried to get admission into form one in those days after completing primary school. I attended almost ten secondary schools in an attempt to get admission into secondary school in Lagos State. I had to sit at home on my own for extramural lectures without a teacher for many years before I was able to sit for GCE. But all efforts to secure secondary school admission failed. I have my papers which I cannot boast was on merit. The grade I made on merit was my primary school certificate.

What were you doing after acquiring your primary school certificate? Did you attend any Bible or Pastoral college?
After my primary school education, I started gathering little children by visiting parents to ask if they wanted somebody to care for their kids by teaching them the Bible. I have never attended any seminary school or Bible college in my life.

So, that was how you started evangelism. But at least, you must have been part of a church before you started your own ministry?
I was a member of the Anglican Church before I founded The Synagogue. In fact, I was made the Chairman of the Children’s Harvest committee twice or thrice in my village. When I came to Lagos, I never attended any church.

You have been prophesying for several countries and all your prophecies came to pass. I remember you did call for prayers before Bhutto was assassinated in Pakistan. But does your silence on prophecy concerning Nigeria mean God has not been revealing to you things about this country?
It is in our record book. Come to our church on Sunday and you would be given a record of prophecies about your country. If you are not backed up by heaven, you cannot just see things on your own. Prophecy is not just a mere thing like that.

How do you spend your leisure periods?
As Mr TB Joshua or Prophet TB Joshua? Because I think you have been talking to Prophet TB Joshua.

Well, both if you don’t mind?
The way Prophet TB Joshua unwinds? I have no life of my own. The only life I have is for Christ. Christ is my joy and everything. The life I live is not my own, but in Jesus Christ.

Does that mean that you spend 24 hours meditating about the Word of God without any relaxation moment?
I am a full time pastor. Since I am not into part time evangelism, all my life – i live for Christ. That is me for you. Even during my birthday, I don’t understand what people are doing by celebrating. I don’t know, because I am not involved. It is all about Jesus.

A Man Blessed With A Diplomatic Job.

Mr Ibe Sanford Emene – Blessed With A Diplomatic Job.

The First major testimony was a flashback in a video in relation to a prophecy given to Mr Ibe Sanford Emene, living in Rivers state. In the video, Mr Emene was looking dishevelled, poor and hopeless. Wise man Racine prophesied to him that he would soon receive the blessing of God despite his horrible past, as he would soon be given a remarkable job which would change his life, totally.

The wise man also prophesied that Mr Emene would soon travel out of Nigeria before the end of the year, 2010, but that he should be mindful of where he came from and try to avoid temptations.

Mr Emene returned after the fulfilment of the prophecy, to thank God for his mercy and blessing. In his words, he was living in abject poverty, failure and other challenges in business. He came to The SCOAN for prayer and direction on what to do to ameliorate his situation.

He referred to the prophecy by Wise man Racine, which was made manifest, though he had come originally to the church on a different matter. He said he was scared when the wise man mentioned foreign travels because he had never travelled out of Nigeria. He also said he was sympathizing with Wise Man Racine who had to lay hands on so many people. But in December of 2010, he was later appointed a diplomat and technical expert.

He had had an interview at Abuja and though others in the interview panel may have contacted witch doctors or gone through powerful people in Nigeria to get the appointment, he believed in the God of T.B. Joshua and prayed. He knew that travelling outside would actually change his life, entirely, as proclaimed in the prophecy of the wise man. In his words “The prophecy brought 300 degree turn around to my life. Where God guides, He provides. When you come to God, come blank. Don’t tell him what you want to hear. I have visa for two countries, one of which is South Africa”.

Obviously, success was written all over his face as the video showed his past and present, for the sake of comparison.

TB Joshua

Using the story of Ahab and Prophet Micaiah in 2 Chronicles, Prophet T.B. Joshua continued the message from last week, titled, ‘The Truth Sustains God’s Prophets’. Referring to the initial 400 prophets invited by the King of Israel, Ahab, to prophesy on the outcome of the planned war at Ramoth Gilead, he said, “In searching for the truth, we must look within and beyond our palace”.

He said the truth is older than terror, because God symbolizes truth, and thus, the foundation of every experience. “As truth was older than terror, so it will survive it; it got the start and it will get the race. The day will declare who is in the right and who is in the wrong. God is truth”.

He further explained that, “God confirms the word of His servants by accompanying it, by establishing it. God gives being (life) to His Word. You can speak His Word but God gives life/ being. If He has not given being to His Word, the Word is dead but when He gives that life, the Word becomes life”.

At about 7:24am, the church was filled to capacity by people from different parts of Nigeria and other countries of the world. Faith-

building songs were rendered by the choir and lasted for about two hours before the ministration by Wise Man John Chi. The subject of the ministration was “Cultivate An Independent Mind”. He said that without an independent mind, we would be prone to taking the decisions of the majority who look up to others for direction and always live in fear. “Everyone is exposed to things that are not consistent with God’s Word“, he asserted.

Jesus Christ, he maintained, knows the relevance of cultivating an independent mind and made a difference in his days. He said we were designed to do something new, unique and beyond human comprehension, adding that we should leave our imprints in a positive way and always itch to do what others have not done. “Those who possess faith do what is otherwise impossible”, he said, noting that satan hates an independent mind because it thinks for itself and examines all things in the light of God’s Word.

He therefore, admonished that we should always have the mind of God, do things that are consistent with His Word, stay in faith in Jesus Christ, and follow the example of Joseph who made a difference in his world and knew that salvation is personal.

“With the mind of Christ, you will know what Christ knows, and when the Holy Spirit enters you, you will become a channel of healing”, he assured.

In his own message, Prophet T.B. Joshua announced the arrival of Wise Man Harry from Washington, in the USA, and promised to join the wise men in ministering prophecies and prayers during the second service. “Satan is in trouble”, he assured. He announced that the video clips of the crusade in the USA had been received and assured that they would be released before the end of the week.

The prophet also spoke on the new Anointing Stickers, saying that people had started to testify to their spiritual potency. He also spoke on the new Anointing Water. According to him, “God has given us the new Anointing Water but has not finally released it. I am still listening to his instructions on how to release it and give it out”.

He emphasised that the ministration of prophecies and prayers by wise men last week attested to the power of the Holy Ghost manifested through them. “When they lay their hands on you, it is like you put fire on your head, especially if you have not submitted your life to Christ”, he said.

celine nwankwo 2A video was replayed showing Prophet T.B. Joshua prophesying to a woman and asking her why she had left her husband’s house. She replied that it was due to a genotype problem. A couple came forward after the clip was played, Celine Nwankwo introduced the gentleman beside her as her ‘ex-husband’. She explained that they had separated for one year due to a deeply rooted misunderstanding related to the issue of genotype. Celine said that she had never met her husband physically before marriage as it was pre-arranged by both families, but that her husband-to-be had explicitly asked her genotype on the phone before the nuptials were finalized. Celine insisted that she had gone for a test which showed her to be ‘AA’.

The couple happily married and were soon expecting their first child. However, when Celine went for a standard test as her pregnancy neared the time of delivery, she was shocked to discover that the doctors said she was ‘AS’. Upon breaking the news to her husband, he reacted angrily, accusing her of deceiving and misleading him. The argument was so heated that it resulted in separation, to the point where Celine’s bride price was returned and the marriage informally dissolved. Celine had her child which her mother began to take care of. It was in this turmoil that she came to The SCOAN and Prophet T.B. Joshua prophesied about her case. Mr Nwankwo, said that he was indeed incensed by his wife’s revelation that her genotype was ‘AS’, as he too knew that he was ‘AS’, and feared their child would be greatly affected.

Prophet T.B. Joshua told the couple that as what led to the separation was something that prayer could solve, nothing was impossible to God’s power. He said that both would receive prayer for deliverance before he revealed the mind of God as to whether the marriage would continue, stressing that the issue would be solved amicably and the will of God be done.

We thank God for the wonderful things He is doing in The SCOAN week-in, week-out. The secret of all the miracles is Jesus Christ. Glory be to God!

miss oluseyi

Miss Oluseyi shared a wonderful testimony of how God healed her while she was watching Emmanuel TV in her home. The Togolese had an ovarian cyst which was characterized by irregular menstruation. It came to the point where blood flowed continually for six months. Because of the condition, she usually experienced internal heat and her gospel music career was impeded.

Being a watcher of Emmanuel TV, she had decided to pray along with Prophet T.B. Joshua, laying her hands on the screen as Prophet T.B. Joshua offered prayer for viewers. That night, a spiritual operation took place and thick blood came out of her. Immediately, all the pain and discomfort she had previously experienced disappeared; Oluseyi knew she had been Divinely operated on! Joyously returning to the same hospital that had diagnosed her with the ovarian cyst, she repeated the medical examination. The astonished medical doctors confirmed that the ovarian cyst had gone, a miracle God had wrought through Prophet T.B. Joshua’s prayer on Emmanuel TV. Since that time, her menstrual cycle normalized and her career was reignited.  She told the congregation that distance is not a barrier, and that people should learn to touch the screen in faith anytime Prophet T.B. Joshua prayed for viewers, believing God for Divine intervention.

Prophet T.B. Joshua’s Rising Profile

A columnist for Daily Independent, Dan Amor, wrote this piece on the rising profile of Prophet TB Joshua…

That the modern age is an era of great religious speculation will be apparent to even the most casual student of its literature; that it is also an age of great religious faith no one can contest. As things stand, it is evident that not a few contemporaries would be disposed to concur with the popular view that men cannot do without religion, and that they cannot all do with it as it is. But, surely, it is the dialogue of the human mind with itself that characterizes man’s continuous search for spiritual meaning in the modern would. Yet, presently, Nigerian men of God have set their stamp more strongly on the general character of the Christian religion as a way of life. During the last few decades, our generation in particular has seen a re-orientation of our mind and soul, which implies not only a permanent change but, indeed, a shifting of the spiritual horizon, with far-reaching results. All these swiftly rising new men of God in Nigeria, whose names we now recognize as stimulating signals, have one thing in common: they are fully and truly committed. And their congregations greet them with enthusiasm, no matter the location.

One of these anointed servants of the Most High is the man who is the focus of our attention today. It is BeFunky_FeaturedEffects_2hardly an exaggeration to say that Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, who will clock 50 on Wednesday June 12, 2013, more than any of his contemporaries, has exerted a tremendous influence on the spiritual and economic life of his teeming congregation in particular and humanity at large. This piece is not an attempt to embark on a deconstruction of T.B. Joshua. In fact, I have never met this man of God, neither have I exchanged correspondence with him since the past fifteen years of my involvement in this busy profession of minding other people’s business, especially its most intricate and intellectually engaging aspect, the business of informed commentary and editorial writing. Admittedly, to offer an honest critical evaluation of the whole corpus of criticisms of this controversial pastor is certainly an ambitious undertaking. But it would be more rational to repudiate the cynical over-simplification by fifth columnists and court jesters whose major pre-occupation it is to ridicule someone who has practically and positively ministered to the vast majority of the downtrodden. It is certainly not the business of this column to question the fabrics of the moving saga that wove into autonomous existence the circumstances that surround the dramatic emergence of this spiritual challenger.

Amidst the ponderous saga of some “holier-than-thou” men of God who tax their congregations to build schools, colleges and universities to which they (members) cannot afford to send their children due to exorbitant fees, Joshua has awarded scholarship to thousands of his members and even beyond. His consistent life style has already given proof of his individuality as a true servant of God. And the manifest hand of God that radiates through his ministration has drawn many lost sheep back to the Body of Christ. A close look at the circumstances of his life shows that Prophet Joshua was born with the natural requirements for a calling of an ideal tendency. In recent times, I have heard not less than three pastors, hitherto doubtful of Joshua’s spiritual credentials, now testifying openly that TB is a true servant of God. One of them even confessed at a meeting recently, where yours sincerely was in attendance, that but for his strong attachment and loyalty to his superintendent, he would have resigned to become one of Joshua’s ministers. Whatever is responsible for this bout of proclamation, the truth is that in spite of the antics of his detractors schooled in the pull-him-down (PHD) syndrome, Joshua possesses a heroic pathos, and has infested in our very eyes an uncommon spiritual candour. Had Thomas Paine watched Joshua closely during his day he would probably not have made his famous declaration that “religion is the opium of the masses.”

As a testimony to his rising profile, Joshua has a large flock of Christian believers from Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America and his healing power makes headline news in media houses around the world. Again, The Synagogue Church of All Nations at its Ikotun, Lagos headquarters, has played host to very important dignitaries from across the world. The tremendous growth in population of his ministry apparently accounts for the equally large viewership of his television network programme known as “Emmanuel TV”. As a hard working, loyal and dedicated spiritual bulldozer who can shrink up the sundering seas, level all intruding mountains, bridge all gulfs and put a lamp in every tunnel, TB Joshua is undoubtedly a spiritual phenomenon whose corpus requires a large canvas. It is incontestable that the spiritual seriousness of the present times, so conspicuous in most Nigerian Christians, is due in no small part to evangelical Christianity, which has coloured the beliefs and practices of so large a segment of the populace. For, much as practical evangelism has nurtured the need for a religious faith in our society, it has inadvertently made allowance for the major ideological developments of the age.

One of such biblical statements which have become the foundation for human ideological creeds is the command by Jesus Christ for Christians to give to the poor and needy. On this score, Prophet Joshua dwarfs all superlatives, at least in Nigeria. Whereas most men of God tax their congregations (sometimes to breaking point) to acquire aeroplanes and jets to fly all over the world, Joshua is one of the few men of God who have seen the need to invest in human capital. It is against the backdrop of this philanthropic activity that the Federal Government recently awarded Joshua the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR). Bamber Gascoigne, the British journalist and television personality, in his book The Christians, says: “Whether He was God, man or myth, one thing is certain about Jesus Christ. He has made more impact upon the world than any other person in history.” In fact, if I am tempted to refer to Prophet T.B. Joshua as a bundle of sublimity, it is because of his vitality; and it is the sheer humility and gentility in him that make for this position. Nor is this vitality any less obvious in his actions. For anyone who has ever tried to explain the making of a complete servant of God knows that goodness must be allowed to speak for itself.

In any case, those opposed to T.B. Joshua are entitled to their opinion. And if Jesus Christ was Himself called all sorts of names and ridiculed by His people, who else is above human condemnation? God, alone, is the true judge!

Though he had worked for 33 years as an Assistant Controller of Customs, this 60 year old Nigerian from Benue State was a victim of poverty and lack of personal accommodation for many years. He had lived in a rented apartment and was unable to live with his wife and eight children because the only accommodation he could afford was too small.MR FEDILIS KOODA [BREAKTHROUGH BUILT HOUSE ] His prayerful wife had encountered Prophet T.B. Joshua in one of her dreams in which the man of God asked her to bring her husband to The SCOAN. When he visited the church, he was prophesied to by Prophet T.B. Joshua and he also received the Anointing Water with which he asked God for blessing. He ministered the Anointing Water and prayed over his land, for a family house. Within a short time, God began to open doors. In 2011, he started developing his land, and within a year, he had two completed bungalows. In April, he dedicated the structure to the glory of God. Today, he lives with all members of his family happy that when he retires in two years, he and his family will have a place to live.

What was then heard was perhaps one of the most disturbing, shocking and disgusting things yet heard at The SCOAN. Tunji stepped forward and began to narrate how demons had twisted, tormented and destroyed his life for the last 10 years. He said that one day 10 years ago, he was in the toilet and he heard a voice telling him to pick his faeces out of the toilet and sniff it; the voice told him that it would smell nice. Though, battling with the thought, the voice was too powerful and he proceeded to take his faeces and sniff it. He liked the smell and then kept it in his pocket. Tunji described how since that time, he had been enslaved to this horrific addiction. He would always carry his faeces around in his pocket and take it out from time to time to sniff it. He explained how he would also hide some under his bed. He said that to him, the faeces smelt like perfume. This evil spirit had also caused him to have the spirit of stealing and had made him to steal numerous things including money from his church.

Pastor Steven then explained that God had revealed to him through a dream that The SCOAN was the place where Tunji would receive his freedom.A member of the congregation came out with the Anointing Water and TB Joshua asked Pastor Steven to collect it and minister it on Tunji. The Anointing Water was ministered and the evil spirit that had caused this horrendous habit was cast out by Holy Ghost fire!

After the deliverance, the faeces were offered again to Tunji to sniff but after a split second, he withdrew crying out that it was stinking! TB Joshua then instructed Tunji to go and take his shower and the whole area where he had stood was given a thorough clean! Jesus Christ is indeed the Deliverer, the Redeemer and the Owner of our souls.

She had smoked for 35 years and as a result, suffered chest pain. In order to sleep at night or even to eat, she had to smoke first. This Cameroonian woman knew that the addiction was capable of leading her to the grave earlier than expected.RITA [ADDICTED TO SMOKING FOR 25 YRS ]

In her desperation to put an end to the addiction, she met a man who offered her the Anointing Water. The man offered her the Anointing Water, with which she prayed and sprayed it in her mouth. The smoking addiction immediately stopped. She was overjoyed and suddenly felt healthy and strong. Advising those who were facing the same problem, she said that they should seek the face of God as there is nothing impossible for Him.

In March 2011, he had visited The SCOAN and was privileged to have the Anointing Water. Later that year while travelling, he encountered armed robbers. As bullets were dangerously fired at him at a close range of a meter, he was never troubled because the Anointing Water was with him in the car and he always prays and sprays the Anointing Water on himself and car before travelling. Instead of harming him, the bullets only dented his car. His miraculous survival is indeed a source of his gratitude to God. His second testimony was centered on a fire outbreak which occurred in his house when he had travelled. Indeed, while a portion of the house got burnt along with the air conditioner, his certificates which were kept inside a box, also containing the Anointing Water and the framed photograph of Prophet T.B. Joshua were not ravaged by fire.
