Don’t think your crying, complaints or self-pity can force Jesus to become sentimental and then give Himself out so cheaply. He needs to test your commitment and the genuineness of your faith. When you are controlled emotionally, you lose sense of objectivity but Jesus’ objectivity was founded on commitment and genuineness of faith. Therefore, the only way to honour Jesus is to have faith in Him. Of all graces, faith honours Christ most, therefore of all graces, Christ honours faith most.
When you have faith, you will discuss the One who is fighting for you, instead of the battle. When you have faith, you will discuss the promise of victory, instead of the warfare. This is what Jesus meant in John 16:33 – “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
When you have faith in Jesus, each insult, embarrassment, persecution, disappointment, failure you receive will draw you closer to Him, knowing that the closer you get to Jesus, the more your breakthrough is being built up, slowly but surely.
