THE VALUE OF CHALLENGES – Week 12 Devotion

It does not take long to realise that life is full of challenges. I mean, life begins with a doctor’s slap on our backside. This is why Job 5:7 says, “Man is born to trouble”. From the moment you leave your mother’s womb, you encounter trouble. One thing is clear: life is not a playground, it is not a bonding meeting but it is a battlefield. The sooner we realise this, the wiser we shall be.

Remember Jesus’ words in John 16:33, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world”.

In the midst of the common calamities of human life, we should always keep in the forefront of our minds that our challenges are meant for our spiritual benefit. As Christians, we must know the value of our challenges. Our challenges are not meant to impair us but to improve us. I mean, challenges are meant to draw us closer to God, to strengthen our desire and determination for our Saviour. Therefore, whatever you may be passing through today, don’t allow your challenges to pull you down or tear you apart. Beyond your situation, there is solution.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, strengthen me to overcome because You make Your people’s trouble work for their advancement.

  1. LORD JESUS CHRIST OUR STRENGTH

    Psalm 28:7
The Lord is my strength and my shield my heart trusts in him and I am helped.

If you love and trust that the Lord he will be your strength and shield you will be pleased and love to do his wonderful projects through his only Son Lord Jesus Christ. If the Lord arms you with strength he will make your way perfect and you will not slip. He is our refuge and he is ever present to help us when we face some challenges. You can do everything through him because he is with you and he keeps giving you strength. If Almighty God supplies you with the strength you must do what he says you must do, so that he is praised and for his glory. Our Lord and Savior closely watches the whole world to give strength to those whose hearts are loyal to him. He promised to see us through our challenges and to uphold us with his righteous right hand. He is able to strengthen us with power through his Spirit in our inner being.
I encourage children of God to be courageous and trust the Lord that he will never leave you or forsake you. Be delighted in your weakness, in insults in hardships, in persecutions in difficulties. For when you are weak then I am strong because my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is my strength. If Christ is your strength you must endure hardship because he is saying something or he might be disciplining you. Flee from all forms of evil things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love endurance and gentleness.

    BE FIRM IN THE FAITH

    1 Corinthians 16:13-14
    13. Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith: be man of courage be strong. 14. Do everything in love.

When we encounter some challenges we must stand firm in our faith and be courageous and strong, because Almighty God promised to see us through our challenges. We must be still because the Lord is with us and his plans for us endure forever through all the generations Do all your work in love, he guides us in the way we should go and he protects us. if we please him he gives us a strong place to stand. Lord Jesus Christ is our foundation and the solid rock. Our faith, love to God and to others must be permanent. We must be strong and be truthful up to the end and be saved and be firm and be fully converted children of God and obey his word and do his will.
